Hey there all,
After a very busy period here at Third Man headquarters, we are finally done shipping all the Lazaretto Vault packages. If you still have not received a tracking number for your package #20 (and signed up as a Platinum member before April 30), please let us know right away at vault@thirdmanrecords.com. Also, to reiterate from the last posting, we now will begin processing exchange and replacement requests that have been sent over the past few weeks. Although we usually accept exchange and replacement requests only up to 14 days after packages are received, we will allow for a longer grace period this quarter, lasting up through today for domestic members. We appreciate your patience very much and remind you to keep your eyes peeled for the next Vault package announcement shortly!
got mine today and love it, shame about the £18 i had to pay but shit happens, stop crying
@nje it took more than this amount of time and I am in the continental US. Overseas folks will probably have theirs shipped first next time. Enjoy. :)
My vault package was despatched on the 30th of June from Third Man and over the 11+ days of time in transit it has now made its way to Miami (in fact it spent it’s first 10 days just going from one USPS facility to another all within TN). I am in Australia so at this rate I should have this package some time around 2020. Anyone from any other “international” location having this problemo?
I have just received my #20 vault package today, it is amazing!!! I paid my customs fee yesterday to release it but now it has arrived it is a thing of beauty. Thanks for all of the effort that has been put into this and i don’t need a refund, maybe you can send us all an ultra rare pressing of something as compensation :)
I know I had a rant last night (I had just paid my customs fees) but having calmed down now and had time to reflect. I was too over the top. I know I haven’t had to pay customs for a Vault package before, but I have for a number of other things I’ve bought from the States, including vinyl, so it was perhaps more the shock than the actual fact I had to pay duties.
TMR is not a big company and none of us know just how many people that subscribe to the Vault are affected, so refunding lots of Vault members for the duties could be seriosuly expensive.
It was a fault with the software and they say it’s been fixed for next time. I suppose they didn’t actually have to offer anything by way of ‘compensation’, since, going by what others have said, they listed the value of the package rather than the minimum legal value they could list, but at least they chose to offer something.
I know lots of people will still be unhappy and some will think I’ve gone mad but personally I’m okay with it now. My package is being delivered on Monday – I’ll be on annual leave then – it will be played loud!
@david devine You couldn’t have said it any better.
I paid my customs fees yesterday (ouch!) & received my parcel today. It’s a beautiful package, thank you. The little book is lovely & as I had to pay extra then I’m glad it’s for this one. Pleased that the problem has been fixed for the next Vault parcel though!
Feeling the pain here too. I would have rather TMR just refund me my £18.57 Parcel Force ransom or the 35% off the next vault package. I don’t want to have to spend more money and the discount then probably just covers the shipping of whatever you buy.
Seems to me like a mistake has been made which is fine for human beings that’s nothing new and I can accept that. However the gesture of a discount against future purchase is not a suitable atonement for the mistake made by others at my cost. I FEEL AT THE VERY LEAST THE COST SHOULD BE ABSORBED BY THOSE AT FAULT! EITHER PART REFUND OR DISCOUNT THE NEXT PACKAGE ITS THE RIGHT THING TO DO.
I’ve just received my Vault package 20 and the mistake is on the label, they’ve put the actual price of the vault package which costs $54 instead of usually they put $20. $54 is £31.54 which has triggered the VAT thresh hold (approx £20). That is why we are all being charged extra in the UK. Third Man Records have acknowledged this mistake and it will be corrected on the next Vault package so there should be no charges next time around, Hurrah. Now can I have my £18.39 back please?
