The Raconteurs
“(embargoed from sharing the title)” one-sided single
scums stats: WOULDN’T YOU LIKE TO KNOW?
Hard to believe I’m even doing one this week, but the collectibility has me all keyed up. Multiple covers? Multiple paper colors? Only given out to Ultra Ticket purchasers? SIGN ME UP.
Everybody is gonna want one, so let me just pre-emptively tell you…I don’t have any to spare!
You wanna place bets on the high price these reach on Discogs? Will anyone be able to collect ALL four?
Good luck to those trying, as you will need it.
You know, this song originally wasn’t going to be on the album. But Swank and I had to explain to the band how DAMN GOOD it was. It makes multiple statements that need to be made. The performance is tight…who even knew Brendan could DO that?
People who won't play the game the hard way, let’s do easy. Let’s give away a test pressing for commenters. You’ve got a week to get it in there. Tell me your favorite Third Man moment of the past ten years. I may use discretion or I may just pick a comment at random, so everyone has a chance.
Passing on the love of music and vinyl to my sons… We visit Thirdman in Detroit on their birthdays and have been to Nashville twice. Each time we stock up on Lp’s and singles. ❤️
I’ve been a Dead Moon fan for ~13 years now, but I never got a chance to see Dead Moon or Pierced Arrows. The closest I got to seeing either band was seeing Fred and Toody in the Blue Room, just over a year before Fred passed away. I’ve always been so appreciative of TMR for putting on that show. Fred Cole was such a powerful and emotive singer that I was moved to tears watching him belt out his truth. I wouldn’t have had the chance to witness such an amazing performance before he passed if I hadn’t attended the TMR show. I’ll always be grateful for the experience.
My (close) 2nd fave TMR memory was today at the anniversary party, I saw you walking backstage a few mins after the Dirtbombs finished playing. I yelled “Great set, Blackwell!” Without missing a beat, you dramatically spun around and blew a giant kiss into the air and disappeared behind the partition (lolol)
I also loved watching Swank absolutely dominate his kit during the Soledad Brothers’ set. So intense! Relentless! Unapologetic! Right up my alley.
Getting early access to tickets just down the road at the historical Shreveport Municipal Auditorium. Surprised my 12 year old JW fanatic son who didn’t have a clue until he saw a happy rolling Record store customer walking by with a TMR bag in the parking lot. Hopefully I didn’t already hit my peak as the coolest thing I do as a dad.
For me, it was sleeping on the steps of the Detroit Masonic Temple to see Jack White on the Lazaretto tour. I was in the front row. It was absolutely his best solo show I’ve seen, and I’ve seen more than I care to admit.
My favorite moment? Too many. All I can say is THANKS!
Third Man Records does a lot for the community for example the Turkey or blood drives. Those are the great moments: sharing is not scaring! Thank you for that.
So many awesome, kickass moments, but when I first heard Boarding House Reach? Wow. I was blown away. Such a fantastic, thought-provoking, clever record. Also, I listen to the Conan O’Brien interview regularly- it’s just so damn hilarious and weird.
So Many Great Moments My Favorite Raconteurs Song is Carolina Drama When I Listen to it Every Day Especially The Consolers of the Lonely On Vinyl
So many great moments but a fav is being selected to go to the DW show at the TMR Pop Up in L.A. Coming out of the show and seeing the commotion around the Bizarro store was an incredible moment.
My favorite moment/accomplishment…..CLEVERLY TRADING MY WAY INTO COLLECTING ALL 4 VARIANTS OF THIS BEFORE THE PARTY WAS EVEN OVER!
