The Raconteurs
“(embargoed from sharing the title)” one-sided single
scums stats: WOULDN’T YOU LIKE TO KNOW?
Hard to believe I’m even doing one this week, but the collectibility has me all keyed up. Multiple covers? Multiple paper colors? Only given out to Ultra Ticket purchasers? SIGN ME UP.
Everybody is gonna want one, so let me just pre-emptively tell you…I don’t have any to spare!
You wanna place bets on the high price these reach on Discogs? Will anyone be able to collect ALL four?
Good luck to those trying, as you will need it.
You know, this song originally wasn’t going to be on the album. But Swank and I had to explain to the band how DAMN GOOD it was. It makes multiple statements that need to be made. The performance is tight…who even knew Brendan could DO that?
People who won't play the game the hard way, let’s do easy. Let’s give away a test pressing for commenters. You’ve got a week to get it in there. Tell me your favorite Third Man moment of the past ten years. I may use discretion or I may just pick a comment at random, so everyone has a chance.
My first visit to TMR Detroit!
Home state solidarity! ??✋?
Taking my daughter and my niece to Third Man in Nashville and recording them singing their ABC’s in the recording booth.
My favorite TMR experience? Winning a copy of the limited High Ball Stepper 7". High Ball Stepper needs a buddy, a pal, a compadre… and I think this 7" would do the trick. ;)
My favorite Third Man Records experience: 4/18/18: At 4pm I see a post on Instagram about a last minute show announcement that Jack White is playing TMR Cass Corridor later that evening. I raced home from work, grabbed my challenge coin, and sped down I-75 from Frankenmuth to get in line outside the store. I arrived around 6pm and doors were at 8pm. The first 200 Vault Members in line would be admitted first and FOR FREE! I counted my place in line. I was #111. I was ecstatic and made friends with the other Vault members in line around me and still keep in touch with some of them on Instagram. The show was so intimate and amazing. It TOTALLY made up for the weird experience seeing them at LCA the next day. But one of the coolest parts about that day was after the band’s set was done and people were allowed to mill about the store and continue shopping. I got an opportunity to meet and chat with Ben Blackwell and thank him for everything he does with TMR and TMP. We also talked about the solo record I plan to release and would LOVE to have pressed at TMR. After discussing details, Ben assured me that they would take on the project when it was ready. I remember driving home after the event and just thinking “how the hell did today just happen?!” I still get goosebumps thinking about how cool that day was.
love interruption coming out. jack white first solo single
Best moment EVER : Learning about a new record store in Nashville 8-ish years ago. I grew up around Nashville and it’s all old hat, but THIS, when I visit – or go to a TMR show/event… it’s like a total different layer of magical-fairy-existence somehow portal-warped from a shinier dimension. My daughter has grown up with ya’ll and considers a short trip to TMR better than a week’s beach vacation. Aside from shaking Jack’s hand the highlight of her life was putting her butt in JW’s yellow chair back there. THANK YOU for the magic. Everything. It just keeps getting better. And tho I live here, sadly I didn’t make it to the 10th due to a death in the family. So Ben, dear Ben, you have daughters. You have the power to make another daughter’s dream come true. Her prayers for the past few nights literally have been to get a copy of one with Little Jack on it. You have no idea what pre-teen female hormones are like, but you will soon and you have my prayers. So for the love of all that is magical and hormonal Ben… I unabashedly beg you… LJ
I brought you beer and cheese! End of story. thanks for the opportunity
March, 2011, SXSW, where the Rolling Record Store made its debut. Living in Chicago, I don’t often get to personally peruse and purchase vinyl from TMR, so this mobile option was perfect. Ingenious idea, really. Happy anniversary!
Celebrating the 10th birthday with so many cool people and high fiving Jack as he walked back stage Saturday for the first Raconteurs show in 8 years
My favorite Third Man moment was getting my Die By the Drop single signed by both Jacks. That was my first of many trips down to TMR.
