The Raconteurs
“(embargoed from sharing the title)” one-sided single
scums stats: WOULDN’T YOU LIKE TO KNOW?
Hard to believe I’m even doing one this week, but the collectibility has me all keyed up. Multiple covers? Multiple paper colors? Only given out to Ultra Ticket purchasers? SIGN ME UP.
Everybody is gonna want one, so let me just pre-emptively tell you…I don’t have any to spare!
You wanna place bets on the high price these reach on Discogs? Will anyone be able to collect ALL four?
Good luck to those trying, as you will need it.
You know, this song originally wasn’t going to be on the album. But Swank and I had to explain to the band how DAMN GOOD it was. It makes multiple statements that need to be made. The performance is tight…who even knew Brendan could DO that?
People who won't play the game the hard way, let’s do easy. Let’s give away a test pressing for commenters. You’ve got a week to get it in there. Tell me your favorite Third Man moment of the past ten years. I may use discretion or I may just pick a comment at random, so everyone has a chance.
Best moment was finding out that I could win this awesome 7" by commenting about it here.
This best moment will be replaced by a new best moment once I actually win. :)
I’ve gotta go with this last Saturday, the concert lineup, the DJs, talking to Pokey just wandering around the parking lot. Deep down I really dig that there are still businesses that respect their employees and it was cool to learn that you guys we’re made business partners. Typically when a business is successful they forget the people that brought them there – congrats on your ownership and here’s to another 10 more years!
Favorite TMR moment would probably the Triple Decker release. I had to get one and as I live 5 hours away I would have to wake up ungodly early to drive down in the morning, so I decided forget that I’ll go the night before and just camp on the parking lot (This was before EVERYONE camped for releases)….well after work I drove down and showed up I want to say right before the store closed for the day, and that made me 3rd in line! Another couple had also drove in from Missouri! So for the majority of the cold night it was just the 3 of us waiting and chatting about music. I think a few more showed up around 1 or 2am, but then in the morning before the store opened the line reached for blocks! I was able to get one of my most cherished records, THANK YOU for not kicking us off the lot all those years ago….and sorry for the camping precedent it started.
(runners up: TMR 3rd anniversary party, Shins live in the Blue Room after a night in the rain for the liquid filled, Dead Weather Live at TMR with the live lottery drawing, or seeing Halloween hosted by Elvira!)
When I finally got another turntable that I ordered from TMR to replace the one that my dad gave me for my high school graduation that I lost when moving 20 years ago.
My favorite moment was when Third Man Records was interesting. It’s been awhile; but damn those were some good times.
I have been a Vault member for a while now, but have not been able to visit either TMR location yet. I would love for my band to play in the Blue Room someday. However, one of my favorite TMR moments is seeing Jack last year on the BHR tour. It was phenomenal! Also, one of my other favorite TMR moments could very well be today of all days. My band Evil Awful will be playing alongside Craig Brown Band at the Outland Complex venue here in Springfield, Missouri. It’s a tri-plex and we are playing on one side and they are playing on the other. I am stoked!!!
My favorite was seeing people who are fans to popularity on April 6 2019 at TMR to celebrate a decade to prosper. The rolling record store was selling blue and black split vinyl of the Racontwoers live in the blue room. The look I received when I told some people that purchased the record that Jack was not in that band was priceless.
I was just notified of Raconteurs trip to Stage AE Pittsburgh, PA!!! I am soooooo excited to be there. Signed back into the Vault. And fingers crossed this will happen. July 27th “2014”. I was there… Epic show. The rain started and people just stayed. I had my rain coat so was all good. I think he cut the show short cause of the rain? Peace. TMR
My wife and I visited the Memphis shop over the summer. I took my time to soak in the marvels and check out some sweet deals, when she decides to say; I seem as giddy as a schoolgirl. Well, after check out I left her there for bust’n on my manhood. If you see her roaming the halls, please let her know that our relationship (and a ride back to Knoxville) is contingent on me getting a test press.
Visiting Nashville and getting to walk around the TMR store. The recording booth was new and my daughter and I recorded a song together. It is one of my records in my collection that is priceless.
