The Raconteurs
“(embargoed from sharing the title)” one-sided single
scums stats: WOULDN’T YOU LIKE TO KNOW?
Hard to believe I’m even doing one this week, but the collectibility has me all keyed up. Multiple covers? Multiple paper colors? Only given out to Ultra Ticket purchasers? SIGN ME UP.
Everybody is gonna want one, so let me just pre-emptively tell you…I don’t have any to spare!
You wanna place bets on the high price these reach on Discogs? Will anyone be able to collect ALL four?
Good luck to those trying, as you will need it.
You know, this song originally wasn’t going to be on the album. But Swank and I had to explain to the band how DAMN GOOD it was. It makes multiple statements that need to be made. The performance is tight…who even knew Brendan could DO that?
People who won't play the game the hard way, let’s do easy. Let’s give away a test pressing for commenters. You’ve got a week to get it in there. Tell me your favorite Third Man moment of the past ten years. I may use discretion or I may just pick a comment at random, so everyone has a chance.
Pretty much every time you announce a new vault package. Always trying different/weird/fun things keeps this label rockin!!!
4.18.18 Phone alerted me of the free show at TMR Cass. GO NOW!!! Dropped everything, drove 3 hours from the West Coast (of Michigan), took Exit 3 off the Lodge, turned right on 3rd Ave. Stood in line with some great people in some crap weather. Grooved heavily to the pre-show mix on the P.A. (“Showstopper” by Dean Ween Group FTW!!!) and saw my first Jack White performance ever. Except for that one time around 1991 when he was behind the kit for Goober & the Peas, but that’s another story…
The Dead Weather secret show at the Magic Stick in Detroit. It was the same night that the Red Wings lost the Stanley Cup in game 7 against Pittsburgh, and couldn’t have been a better pick-me-up after that brutal loss. Thanks TMR
The record and turntable in space was my favorite.
My favorite TMR moment is hearing Weezer in the insta-vinyl booth. Didn’t know they still had that performance in them!
I got copper!
Show us your (well deserved) pin for 10 years service Ben. You and Swank have earned it for putting up with the most demanding of consumers
This is a tough one. For me it’s a tie between being at the grand opening of Third Man Pressing, seeing Jack White preform at the Cass Corridor store, or seeing the MC50 performance at the Cass Corridor store and being able to buy the show I just witnessed on vinyl. But if I really had to just pick one of these three amazing experiences, I’d have to pick the MC50 show. Not only did I get to see some of my favorite musicians on the same stage but I also got to meet one of my all time favorite Detroit Tiger, Kirk Gibson. Long live Third Man Records.
My favorite moment was being able to get into the Dead Weather show in the Blue room the same day my house was destroyed in the May floods of 2010
It was a terrible time but due to weather many of the invite -only guests were unable to attend leaving room open for anyone who could make it up there.
I was able to and the show was incredible!
It would either be this or being able to attend the dead weather pop up show and store in Los Angeles, 2009!
Thank you guys for everything! I have been a vault member since Day 1!
I think this is TMR related. I was at a new years eve show a couple years ago and wound up with numbers 1,2,& 3 of a Dirtbombs/Soledad Brothers split 45. They weren’t supposed to sold, but I got them anyway. He asked for them back and I happily returned them. Because of that I was able to meet Ben and have a good long conversation with him. It made the incredible show and even more memorable experience.
