you are very smart and I am in if that would be possible but usually RSD release are limited to one per person but I would be happy to help fellow Vaulters if i can. I will keep this forum posted.
God, here in south France it’ll be very hard to get one copy… Two years ago I couldn’t get Elephant… There were but a few shops participating to RSD and only one had the chance to get… two copies of the album. I went to that shop at 9 in the morning, and there was nothing left for me…
But i’ll do anything that I can to get Satan this year !
Thank you TMR for making the sun shine during these cold and cloudy days…
i’m going to visit the closest local store anyway. if i’ll be able to get any copy, you can count on me.
We should all unite and buy an extra copy of this vinyl and send it without additional charge just pay for the shipping to those who didn’t get a chance to get one.
Just not sure how we would do the money transaction. Maybe Paypal?

Swore I wasn’t going to do RSD this year, as the queues start earlier and earlier every year at my regular record store. First year it ran in the UK and pitching up at 7:30 – 8 ish got you right at the front of the queue. Last year I arrived at 4 am and was 17th in the queue (one guy had queued since before the store closed the previous evening). By opening time there were hundreds in the queue (have a flick through the store’s photo album here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.604622009613828.1073741828.113107498765284&type=3). However, given The White Stripes and Carina Round releases – I guess I’m going to have to give in and go. The guys in the store are hopeful of getting plenty copies of GBMS – they got lots of Elephant.
Whilst we may not like RSD for the flippers, etc, both of my regular local stores say it’s a godsend for them in terms of income, as the period from new year to Easter is always quiet (it was a very quiet period when I worked in a record store 35 years ago too, when vinyl and cassettes were the two media you could get).
Appreciate that many people no longer have a local record store but stores are allowed to sell online two weeks after the event. When Elephant was released for RSD, a store in Newcastle (Reflex) was selling their unsold stock on ebay at list price, for example. So sometimes being patient and waiting the two weeks can pay dividends. I’ve picked up a lot of stuff I missed on the actual day that way.
i personally visit record stores in my area, i visit them when i’m travelling. i’m doing it because i love records not only one day a year. that’s not the point. the thing is that rsd became a easy way to earn extra money for flippers and business owners who “don’t have it” when you’re at the door but sell it through ebay, discogs and other ways.
here’s only one example from my local area and price already almost tripled.

I live in the deep boonies of West Virginia which in many, many ways I truly love and appreciate. However, the closest thing to a record or even CD brick and mortar store is far,far away, and even if a store were available, a blank stare would be the most you would get when asking for vinyl.
I would LOVE to come to Nashville and TMR, but without boring you with details, at age 65 and plagued with side effects from heavy-duty cancer treatments, it ain’t gonna happen! A friend did get me to Jack and Olivia Jean’s fantastic show in Cleveland and I will be in my friend’s debt forever. Also, since I bout the tickets through the Vault before the venue change, I spoke with a wonderful, kind person at the TMR store who helped me make sure my seats at the new venue were in the “handicapped” section. So lucky was I, but I don’t think another trip will be possible.
The Vault packages are perfect because it’s delivered right to my door! Will it be possible to order the Record Store Day LP set through some sort of electronic order through TMR?
Really have a heart full of empathy for the person in the Ukraine. Yikes!
@Justin Runyan – I don’t mean to insult. I’ll be in line at 4am along with everyone else. My comment was for those that moan and complain. @Konchok has the right idea. If you want it you go and get it, you build relationships with people either at your local store or in a forum. Too many people bitch about RSD in general that don’t visit and support their local store on a regular basis. If your local store doesn’t order enough, has bad terms with the distributor or buys loads of stuff that doesn’t sell that ties up cash flow then it is badly run. With the Elephant release my local, which is really small had loads. I even managed to go back in on Sunday and pick up another for a guy on a forum that couldn’t. It was sold at cost + postage – NO PROFIT. People should support there local stores all of the time, not just RSD.
