RECORD STORE DAY AT THIRD MAN RECORDS: JACK WHITE & THIRD MAN RECORDS PRESENT…

T H E W O R L D ’ S F A S T E S T R E L E A S E D R E C O R D

LIMITED EDITION “LAZARETTO” SINGLE TO BE RECORDED LIVE, PRESSED & RELEASED APRIL 19 FOR RECORD STORE DAY

On April 19th, Record Store Day, Third Man Records will present Jack White recording the World’s Fastest Released Record, studio-to-store, in the history of mankind.

You heard correctly. First thing in the morning, Jack White will take the stage in Third Man's blue room and record direct-to-acetate what will serve as the limited edition version of his next single, a live rendition of the title track from his upcoming LP Lazaretto. The masters will be rushed over to United Record Pressing who will immediately begin pressing 45s. The sleeves will be printed from pictures taken at the show. The finished records will be whisked back to Third Man to sell to awaiting fans. All in the same day. All in a matter of mere hours. As long as there are fans in line waiting to buy the single, United will continue to press and deliver them to Third Man to sell. Even if it takes all day.

In addition, Whirlwind Heat will appear at Third Man to play their first live show since 2006 (and likely their last ever), as their TMR classic Do Rabbits Wonder? LP is reissued on a variety of colored vinyl for Record Store Day.

Plus a great selection of local vendors will be on hand to keep everyone well-fed and refreshed… and there will, as always, be some surprises.

Tickets for this whole day —“Ultra Tickets” — are extremely limited and will be available exclusively through The Third Man Records Vault to Platinum Members. Ultra Ticket holders will get to watch Jack White live recording his World’s Fastest Record, Whirlwind Heat’s afternoon performance, and will receive copies of both The World’s Fastest Record 7” and the Whirlwind Heat Record Store Day LP release — all without having to wait in line! Vault Platinum members who are ticket holders need only show up, see Jack White play, hang out for a bit and eat, watch Whirlwind Heat (last show EVER??) and then, as they leave, pick up their bag with both RSD releases. No lines. No stress.

For those who can’t score tickets, The World’s Fastest Record will be made available for sale from the front of Third Man Records as soon as copies are pressed. Anybody who shows up that day during business hours wanting to purchase a copy will get one. Third Man promises to deliver until all customers are satisfied (one per customer, obviously!). The World’s Fastest Record will only be available at Third Man Records on Record Store Day. One time only!

Ultra Tickets for Record Store Day will be available via The Vault Pre-Sale ticket store at 3pm CT today, Thursday, April 3rd. JUST A GOLD SUBSCRIBER? SIGN UP FOR A PLATINUM MEMBERSHIP HERE.

TMR, I’d like to request a mini-movie of TMR’s Record Store Day 2014 events on DVD and sold as a non-exclusive to Vault members = sold to everyone. Oh and someday, when Jack is all done with his present touring schedule, I would like to hang out with Jack and his kids and teach them all how to play Jacks. I’m pretty rusty so we would all be on the same playing level. Oh and Jack, I’m almost ready to talk to you…the nest time you walk by me or bump into me. Your status as a rock star has been very scary to me but I’m slowly getting over that.

Have fun you crazy kids!

To all the overseas members that are complaining about no live stream, no chance at buying the 7" and everything else. We all get a pretty great deal with the premium pack sent to us. We pay $60 plus shipping every quarter for some really great unreleased content that is unavailable to the general public without signing up. We are not paying hundreds and hundreds here guys. Of course it would be nice if everyone had the opportunity to purchase every single thing that thirdman release. But that is not the case and it never will be. Products don’t have the same meaning, appeal, hype and exclusiveness if they are made for everyone to buy. That includes premium members. Show me another label that continually provides their fans with amazing limited vinyl. If you know of one then please unsubscribe to thirdman and join them instead. If not, be happy with the vault pack and any other perks that might come with your $60.. I am an overseas customer by the way. Cheers

I for one will be at my local record store on RSD like I am weekly. A evening taped showing of the performances would be cool. Or some additions to the TMR vids. I realize it’s a busy day but at least making the all the live stuff at TMR available at some point would be cool. Just a thought. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

@eeyore….I see why you got your name…nothing going your way. Lose you tail? The world’s against you. Tough life.

If you can’t get a ticket or can’t go to Nashville, then stop moaning and get off your arse and support your LOCAL record shop. Most of these put a lot of effort into the day with bands, appearances and giveaways etc. The whole day is NOT about seeing Jack White, although I think that it’s brilliant that he is appearing at his own record shop, it’s about supporting independent stores and buying REKKIDS!!!!

@STL_Ben – Not everyone collects records, some folks are more interested in seeing a live performance. Is that so confusing? The Live Stream option has been advertised as part of the Vault benefits from day 1 since the move and has never been utilized. It would be a great way to kick it off. Hell, they live streamed SXSW shows last month outside of the Vault, how about some Platinum Member appreciation for RSD?

If any member that was fortunate enough to purchase a ticket, ( I would need two) but your plans change, please feel free to contact me. I am in NYC, have off that week , and will not hesitate to head to Nashville. My DREAM is to eventually meet Jack White! So far, I’ve come so close, but yet so far :( my daughter and her BF actually hugged him! Geez!
