Offerings and Updates with Vault Subscriptions

So, we anticipated that you would be wondering with the rollout of TIDAL (the new high-quality, artist-owned audio streaming service that we are very stoked to support) -- "What does this mean for my Vault subscription? Don't get me wrong, I love it, but sometimes I just need a reminder, ya know?" Well ladies and gentlemen, here it is, in one succinct post.

Vault subscriptions include everything you've come to love: exclusive access to pre-sale tickets and early entry for Third Man-supported events and concerts, first access to Third Man news, audio, photo and video, contests, photo sharing, merchandise through the Vault member-only store (for Platinum members only) and a quarterly vinyl Vault packages (for Platinum members only).

Also, we are pleased to offer Gold and Platinum Vault members a new site-wide discount - something we've been planning for a long time. Now, when you're logged into your account, you can use the code VAULT10 at checkout for 10% off your purchase. Everyday. Certain exclusions do apply for specialty items, but for the most part, records and merchandise are now available to you for LESS without having to wait for a special sale to come around. And, of course, don't forget that you always have the opportunity to buy exclusive items in the Vault Novelties Store (cough, cough, Jay Z, cough, cough).

We are beyond excited to be founding members of TIDAL for our high-quality audio output, and to further support the artistic development of Jack, Jay Z, Daft Punk and the myriad other artists who are teaming up to realize this project. Hope that you guys are as eager as we are! Enjoy!

I really don’t understand what all of the fuss is about here. They just gave us a discount to their entire store and some of you are still finding things to complain about. Your vault membership has not lost any of it’s value. They haven’t taken away any benefits from you. You weren’t promised exclusive access to every property owned by TMR when you signed up. Tidal is a separate, independent service that you can choose to use or not. You’re not entitled to it or any of it’s content simply because you’re a vault member. I, for one, am very happy to have another reason added to the already long list to be a vault member.

I ordered the Jay Z boxed set around 2 PM 3/30/15 ,@ 6;42 3/30/15 PM I got a Vault msg. via twitter. Do I still get 10% off ???

The new streaming service is fine, just don’t get why the Vault members won’t also get the exclusive TMR content. Doesn’t seem right. I already gladly pay $60/ quarter ($20/month) to be a premium Vault member, now I have to pay another $20/month for TIDAL to see exclusive shows, etc.? Sorry, not spending $480/ year on all of this, can’t justify it. That’s on top of all the concerts I buy tickets for, albums I buy, novelties I buy, etc. Pretty bummed out about this. I’ll continue to be a premium Vault member because Jack is my favorite artist, and I love TMR. I kind of feel a little taken advantage of though.

I cannot blame Jack White for doing business with this service; he has many mouths to feed, from his own family to all the employees and people behind the scene. His work and his passion for music and vinyl is incredible and thanks to him, I have discovered many other acts and I am very thankful for that.

Streaming services are great, but they have the tendency to make music feel cheap and disposable, which I think is a concept that clashes hard against the whole idea of the Vault.

I hope that in the future, vault members won’t have to deal with lesser quality/less interesting Vault releases, which would be an immense shame. The Vault is such a great way to fight off illegal bootlegs and cheap youtube feeds, providing the real hardcore fans of The White Stripes/Jack White/and their many friends.

Each release has been incredible so far, not only in production quality, but in terms of actual content.

I hope we just won’t get a degradation of this in favor of this TIDAL service.

I love Jack and TMR but I agree with the general opinion on here and hope they listen to us. It seems a waste to put the exclusive content on Tidal. Most of the people who are signing up for Tidal are not as big of fans as Vault members. Most probably will not even watch the exclusive video. We truly appreciate the content.

oh, and thanks for the discount! it is appreciated and may actually incentivize me to purchase singles and such through the Vault more regularly rather than from my local brick and mortar which is what I’ve been doing. not that that’s necessarily good for them, but, ya know.

I think this is a very interesting and exciting venture for all involved however, like many others posting here, I too have issue with ‘exclusive content’ being made available on TIDAL that should perhaps also be made available here to paying Vault members who have supported the ‘tangible’ revolution as led by TMR. No complaints, just my POV, for what that’s worth.

These fans are an amazing group of wonderful people. Guess I hit the German keyboard button again at some point

Very well put motokomt! I am also looking forward to rsd at TMR not just for Elvis or gbms but to meet more of these amazing people! This community of TMR fans is utterly amazing talented full of passion and compassion group of people. These fans ate amazing wo fearful people for the most part. Yep I’m off track. Ohh well good luck on the streaming adventure. Not my th I. Just hope it doesn’t continue to mean content that would have been exclusive here is there instead. Because I just don’t see my self using it would be a waste for me. After The msg show I deleted spotify I just don’t use those services enough. I spend an extra 10 or 20 on the site instead how’s that sound.
