Jack White has revealed his inventive and revolutionary new 3-in-1 music video for his latest single "That Black Bat Licorice." The video offers three original films of differing themes that can be interchanged based on viewers' interaction with their computer keyboard or tablet screen. The video trio also draws from the vision of three different directors – James Blagden, Brad Holland and White himself. See below for a listing of directors and the vignettes for which they presided over. View the video from a computer or tablet for the full interactive experience.
Animated video: Directed by James Blagden
Live Action video: Directed by Jack White
Headbang video: Directed by Brad Holland
The whole Nefertiti part holds a special place for me. It just good to see her around and fitting well into this video. Her name means “the beautiful one has come.”
I dig it! The way everything fits together when you play around with it, amazing! The headbanging video adds a great touch when flipping back and forth, though it’s not my favorite of the three. Absolutely loved the “air violin”, I got a serious laugh out of that! You’ve outdone yourselves, can’t wait to see what else you’ve got up your sleeve! Thanks!!
This is a truly amazing piece of art! I can see lots of fun with this being has by the family for days and days in the future it’s gonna be some go to fun for us all. At first my husband was like what’s the big deal then he saw after I had watched all three videos on their own as my children looked on I showed them what you can do. We all took our own turn with it all 4 of us. Now My 7 year old daughter is walking around the house head banging and singing. Thank you all for this what a total blast! And watching how each of my family does differently and seeing their view makes a different experience each time. My autistic son who’s 9 has been really into making videos and slowing them down or watching them on high speed. My mind is blown and you’ve not only made it a personal experience but a family experience for us. MIND BLOWN!
Dig it !!!!!
When I read ‘interactive video’ I immediately thought of QOTSA did with “The Vampyre of Time and Memory” but this just blows it away. I think seeing the Bens headbanging seriously made my day. Crazy mad fun!
This is so much fun!! Rapping buttons to the rhythm makes for a fun interactive experience! Brilliant idea!
I so want to believe that those are Jack’s groovy dance moves (the guy with the creepy mask on).
Love the TMR crew head banging too!
BUT IN ALL SERIOUSNESS……… toggle back and forth with the beat between all the frames and you will see how the image registration and alignment are so on point…. TMR staff Kung Fu fighting with comic book backgrounds…. Just like a flip book…. GENIUS …. ITS BRILLIANT…. FUCK YEAH!!!!!
So if she writes letters like a jack chick comic then who is writing who while the character lays in bed looking at the bust of the queen??? It all made sense until i tried to figure out the homage deal…. Anyways… Tomer Hanuka … Jack T. Chick…. Itsss aaaalll graavy baaby!!!
Fantastic, I love it
