We Love You, Ikey

It is with great sadness that we tell the world of the passing of the incredible musician Isaiah "Ikey" Owens. He will be missed and loved forever by his family, friends, bandmates and fans.

Ikey Owens was an astounding keyboard player in Jack White's backing band. He also played with Mars Volta, Free Moral Agents, and many other projects.

Out of respect for Ikey, the remaining shows of the Jack White Tour in Mexico have been cancelled.

We will all miss you Ikey. You were and are an incredible artist.

I feel lucky I had the chance to see you perform with Jack so many times. I admired your play so much it inspired me to start playing the piano.
Rest in love Ikey.

Sadness. Got to see him in Portland in 2012 and down front for Troutdale this year. Such a great loss in the Third Man family.

Just now read this sad, sad news! Praying for Ikey’s family and friends that they will be comforted with love and hope. Isaiah “Ikey” Owens’ incredible music and his relationships are his legacy…As @athinkingcat beautifully said life is fleeting, dont miss an opportunity to show your loved ones you care…the sudden loss of Ikey is a jolting reminder of this wisdom to the Living…The old gospel hymns I’ve grown up loving can be a great comfort to hear and sing…Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, Comin’ for to Carry You Home, sweet Ikey.

Thank you Jack for show casing Ikey’s talent for those of us who didn’t know him before he joined your band. The show in Lubbock was a highlight of my life. I have no doubt Ikey brought highlights to so many lives, and its a shock he’s gone. Take care of one another. RIP Ikey.

I hope his family (including the one he has at TMR) could find strength in the memory of his amazing inner light

I was front row in Toronto in July and the show was amazing. We were on the right side facing the stage and I was pumped to see Ikey play all night. He is and was one of the main reasons I love a Jack White live show. Jack surrounds himself with talented people and Ikey will be missed but rememberd forever.
