I think I have a minute to talk about this. I don’t think what I was trying to say came through clearly, at all. in no way was I trying to say I was better, or the “OG” was better. i got a little sentimental and carried away with my words, i apologize if i made myself sound more entitled in any way. all i was trying to say was, vault chats with jack were better when they were unannounced. it felt more intimate and special. i believe by NOT using twitter, it actually causes people to HAVE to chat in order to get in on jack-chats, and therefore bringing people together and into the chat room. every single platinum member has the ability to chat with jack and co., all they have to do is pop in every once in a while. no one is being left out. i’m just saying, for bob’s sake, CHAT, get to know each other. i don’t twitter. i do not have a twitter account. i am not annoyed by twitter alerts, because i don’t GET twitter alerts. I DON’T WANT TWITTER. there seems to be some confusion that i am annoyed by twitter alerts, when frankly that’s not true. it easy to see how words can be taken and twisted into something else. fair weather friend is an insult? that just means, the friends who only come around when things are nice and wonderful……when jack is in chat. otherwise, they would NEVER come there. but, i’m the bad guy. ok. i speak my mind, i stand up for what i believe in, i say what others only whisper…..twitter chats aren’t as fun as non-twitter chats were. and btw, i am HARDLY in chat anymore. but please use your own catchphrases….HOW DARE YOU, sassy molassy, for bob’s sake….must i copyright? sheesh…..hahaha

OH, and we ALL love when you come visit. And miss it happening more often.

Ben, agreed. I don’t think anyone would argue that anyone has a right to be in if they’ve paid. But speaking for myself, since I was one of the commenters down below, there often isn’t a free exchange of ideas and opinions from some people who just blow in for Jack, you, Ben B because they got a tweet. There’s no exchange at all with anyone other than you 3. It’s the people who are here at other times too who really build the community because they do respect each other, not just an idol, and share music and their lives with each other. (We’ve even chatted up the oh-so-fab Default Admin in new chat!) I already have lifelong friends all over the world — new and OG vaulters — because of Vault chat, and they just strengthened the TMR connection for me. But I hope you’re right and more fab people come in and participate. With everyone.

I’m just now seeing a lot of these comments and am frankly surprised at some of the attitudes that exist on here. We want the Vault to be a community, a free exchange of ideas and opinions from like-minded people. There are always going to be new members looking to explore something that they personally like and value and I would really hope that long-time fans would be welcoming to them and help them find their way, rather then intimidating them and treating them like fairweather fans. Coming in when Jack is in the chat is just one way for them to get started in this world, and they should be treated with respect and kindness, not derided. This site belongs to us all, and fans are paying to be here so they should be afforded the same respect as we try and give people in real life. Games are a lot more fun when everyone gets a chance to play, no?

It will also be nice to stop getting tweets when someone from Angels and Airwaves is on…

I’m glad TMR has took over and we no longer have Modlife to deal with. I can live with or without the tweets. I never seem to get on when Jack or Ben Swank are on so the tweets will probably help me. I imagine there will be a bunch of folks on now. I hope everyone treats them with respect and we can have a conversation. I hope it works out, I hope it doesn’t run ya’ll off. Seems to me Swank tries really hard to make many folks happy. I just try to leave them alone.

Slow news day but that’s a great story.

Ryan Adams used to pop up on fan forums from time to time and sometimes have lengthy discussions with people. The drama stressed him out and it’s been a couple years. I miss that.

A long time ago in the early days of AOL Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee used to get on all the time and chat with Motley Crue fans in a small cozy chat room. Then free AOL cd’s popped up everywhere and people caught on and the small chats were no more and everyone started internet fighting about who is more deserving of chatting with 80’s rock stars. Then Nikki & Tommy got tired of the drama and deleted their AOL accounts forever. True story people.

What I’m seeing here are people with a lot of heart looking for and finding connection. I’m new and that’s my perspective from here.
