Hi all,
Just a quick note to clarify our intention with the pre-sale tickets on the Vault Pre-Sales page. These tickets are meant for members who are on the Vault for the same reasons that we hope all fans and followers are so dedicated to Third Man: for sincere and genuine interest in Third Man artists and releases, vinyl, historic recordings and reissues, art, film, literature, challenging normalcy in the antiquated music industry, analog recording, high-quality collectible products, etc. An intention that is not encouraged (and, in fact, not tolerated) is turning a profit off of our members' genuine interests in such creative works.
Although it would be impossible for us to filter members by intention upon purchasing a product, it becomes pretty clear on the secondhand market whose intentions are less than honorable. If and when a break in this policy occurs, really for any offer extended to Vault members, the Vault member(s) and any outstanding store orders will immediately be canceled from the Vault and membership will be revoked.
We hate to be so strict about this policy but feel that it is our responsibility to stick up for the members who have been so loyal, supportive and kind over the years since this whole crazy experiment began. Hope to have you all on board for years to come.

Vault Ticketing Policy Note
Dollruthlessmel, “I think everyone should buy their own ticket (one or two) and not worry about buying for someone else.” Lovely statement and well put. It seems like my whole life there were few friends or acquaintances that were into the same things I wanted to do. I have been buying one ticket to shows for a very long time. It is always a big ordeal to plan to go to shows anyway so going by myself is a lot easier to plan for than coordinating for anyone else going along. I always meet great people at the shows I go to and a lot of times run into the same people over and over again. Best of all you are free to do what you want when you get to the show. When I have bought an extra ticket and organized to go with a friend or meet a friend at the venue I have felt like I was babysitting another adult and didn’t have the freedom to do my own thing. I suggest everyone try going to a show by themselves. I have more fun when I don’t have to worry about anyone else during the evening/night.
Needless to say, I can write, but my iPhone auto-corrected my reply, making it seem as though I couldn’t. To mydaydream, tickets sold out at that rate because tickets were in high demand. I love Ticketmaster and I also love other venues. I have no problem with Ticketmaster or other venues and I love the fact you can pick your own seats, but not everyone went through Ticketmaster to purchase their tickets. I could have waited until the 11th to buy mine, but I wanted to get it done and out the way. I would have also been happy with the current venue I would have dealt with on that day, because they do a wonderful job getting their ticket to the consumer while making sure they are taken care of in the event something happens to their ticket. To clarify, I’m not saying others venues don’t do this, but I know from experience my venue would have. I think everyone should buy their own ticket (one or two) and not worry about buying for someone else. I think whoever wants to go to an event in which there are limited amount of tickets should get two or three tickets per vault member and others have to buy their own. This would prevent the number of people having so many extra tickets and reselling them on the side. This would also give more people with honorable intentions to participate in the event as well. Sounds good? Let me know!
Honorable Intentions! Thank you.
I think this is RAD, thank you!! While it probably won’t get all the sh*ts out there, it certainly will curb the efforts of them.
<3 you Third Man!
Wow Michael B you think you could lay off the language in your post? Be bitter all you want but do so in a classy way. Cancel away, your crude attitude won’t be missed.
I just thought that I would add a nice cheery I HATE TICKETMASTER here. how can shows possibly sell out at that rate, and why could I choose my seat and pay triple from other sites before they even went on sale? Thanks for the presale, now I just have to break it to my husband that I am going with my mom (LOL)
Thanks for letting us know about scalpers. Best way you can handle that ( it may be disheartening but it works is if you print out a list of vault members, list the gold members and list platinum members. Then limted the amount of tickets sold per vault member (like two or three per person) so that more fans will get the opportunity to get tickets. This way you can limit scalpers also. We cant control what goes on at ebay but as a company you can contact the other company to find out who that account belong to. Hope this helps. By the way I’m not a genius at giving out a cookie cutter pagent response answer everytime TMR staff talk with us about how much i love the place but im good at being real. Thank you.
2 days before the pre-sale date TMR uploaded the date and time for the pre-sale, here, on facebook and twitter , and they even sent a reminder the morning of the pre-sale on twitter. I really appreciated that they did all that 2 days before, so I could check if I had the money available for the transaction, and be ready before the pre-sale. Thanks TMR!
I was unable to get through during the Vault pre sale because of scalpers? :( but was able to get my tickets today through the general public sale :) “Oh well Oh well” I still get to see Jack!!!!
Gotta agree—-I only found out about the presale on Mon thru Facebook
