VAULT #38 NOW SHIPPING

VAULT #38 NOW SHIPPING

We have some great news to start your weekend... Vault package #38 is now shipping!

We are shipping this package in reverse alphabetical order (Z-A) by LAST NAME, starting with international Vault members and then moving onto US Vault members.

Tracking information will be sent out to international recipients today, and to US recipients next week. If you see that your information says 'shipping label printed' and nothing else, don't worry! We have our shipping labels pre-printed, so your package is simply awaiting shipment. If you still do not see an update to your tracking number by December 28th, please reach out to us and we would be happy to look into it for you.

Please note that Vault Customer Service responses will be delayed during the shipping of this Vault package, and we would appreciate if you held any questions regarding package #38’s status until all packages have shipped (about 2-3 weeks), so that we can focus on getting these packages sent out as efficiently as possible. We will return all your emails and voicemails as quickly as possible after shipment of package #38 is complete. If you have already contacted the Vault via email once, please know that your message has indeed been received, and that we are working as quickly as possible to address each message in the order in which they were received. Writing separate emails leads to creation of separate customer service tickets, which in turn causes confusion and adds time to the process of addressing everybody’s questions or concerns. As always, we appreciate your patience during this time!

@jeff- just looked closer… when you buy a record, you haven’t purchased broadcast or distribution rights. a shop owner can’t even play music in their store without paying for proper licensing. so there’s that. intellectual property law is a hot mess, but it’s clear. if you don’t own the rights, you can’t be distributing/broadcasting it. so, legally, I wouldn’t mess around. your buddy has no valid argument and needs to just be cool, man. ? freedom of information act doesn’t allow for violation of intellectual property law. but I’m no lawyer. but hey… the raconteurs just spoiled it themselves online, so moot point.

@Jeff – legality and integrity are two different things.

@acess3000, at first I thought I just got the pictures too. The stickers and patch were in the plain brown cardboard envelope. At first I thought I didn’t get my stickers and patch and I thought that plain brown piece was part of the packaging lol!

Looking to get some opinions of Vault members…
I got in a debate with my friend over the email TMR sent out regarding not posting the new Raconteurs songs on the internet.
I said anyone who posts the songs on the internet lacks integrity.
He says that is bullshit and due to Freedom of Information the songs should be available for everyone. The vinyl is exclusive, not the songs, and upon purchasing the record, you are free to do what you want with it. He says sharing the songs on the internet is ok as long as you’re not selling them or profiting from them.
He also says that Vault releases aren’t actually exclusive since anyone is free to sign up for them during the ordering period. He says it’s basically a preorder system, not an exclusive club.
I told him the point of the Vault is to have a physical release that is not available anywhere else or in any other format.
He understands that, but what makes him angry is the fact that Third Man is trying to tell people what they can and can’t do with their purchases. He says even though them standing against the internet is punk, the fact that they won’t allow people to do what they want with their songs is anti punk. If the release was limited, he could understand. But since they make as many is needed to fulfill the demand, it’s not limited and therefore not exclusive. He made some good points, but I still stand by the fact that the point of the Vault is to have a physical release that is not available in any other format. He says I’ve been brainwashed and TMR is taking steps in the wrong direction on the likes of repealing net neutrality and limiting information.
What do you think?
