CINCI: Jack is an excellent story teller, so Carolina Drama is perfect, a story full of drama, emotions, very well defined characters…he introduces you into the heart of the story, and breaks your heart. Watch the dvd and pick up the pieces of your heart after the song…you’ll need it for your next encounter with Jack and his music. I’ll let you know if I could make it to Mexico City…meanwhile I’ll be waiting for my ultra lp, it’s suppose to arrive on monday, I’ve been trying not to listen lazaretto songs, cause I want to listen to them in the ultra lp for the first time, at least this can make easier the long waiting for the vault package. And please make that friendship happen =)
PS#3: ROJA I am so dumb, I just realized that Vault Package #18 has the “Carolina Drama” song played at the Ryman in 2011 on the dvd. I haven’t watched the dvd yet. I have been saving it to watch for a life saving moment. I think I need a life saving moment today and I’ll watch the dvd for the first time. I hope you are going to be able to make it to Jack’s show or shows in your home country, Mexico, and will tell us all about your experience.
PS#2; I messed up those Raconteurs’ show dates = (1) Cannery Ballroom, April 2008 (2) Ryman, September 2008 and (3) Ryman September 2011. It is really neat to go to youtube.com and search for these shows and relive the experience…found and watched this one this morning, full song [The Raconteurs “Carolina Drama” @ Ryman Auditorium] from 2011…gave me goose bumps! Thanks for reminding me of the “Carolina Drama” song ROJA, Definitely still one of my most favorite Jack White written songs.
PS: ROJA I forgot to mention that “Carolina Drama” is one of my favorite songs too. If my memory serves me well I have seen the Raconteurs band play that song 3 times in Nashville…in a club in 2008, at the Ryman Auditorium in 2009 and 2011. I tried to learn that song by listening to it, over and over and over again = no cheating and looking up lyrics. I was able to sing along with Jack at the Ryman in 2011, but only as far as I got the words memorized. That song is full of words/visual mind pictures. I think Jack saves that one to sing mostly with his Raconteurs band. I didn’t stay up to watch his 2014 Bonnaroo show streamed live on the www but I have gone to youtube.com and found the whole concert, in segments, there. I’m glad Jack mentioned the Raconteurs band he is in. So it is good to know that the Raconteurs band is still alive and well. I don’t feel the same way about the Dead Weather band though because I am not a fan of Alison Mosshart. If the Dead Weather were just the 3 guys I would be hooping and hollering for more. I have yet to see Jack playing drums in a band….maybe someday.
ROJA, Thanks for the notes. It is a really fun time to be following Jack White. I have been a fan for exactly 6 years and 9 months today. When I went to see Bob Dylan he invited Jack to come out and do a song with him on the historic Ryman Auditorium stage in downtown Nashville. I had no idea who he was but after he played one song with Bob Dylan I thought this guy is an impressive rocker and I would like to be friends with him. When I went home and told my daughter (who was living at home and going to college at the time) about seeing some new guy (to me) named Jack White, she went to her room and brought out White Stripes cd’s along with a Raconteurs cd. Funny how your kids can still be living at home and you really don’t know what they are into. Anyway, I’m still working on the friend thing with Jack White. I figure at the 7 year mark I should get up some guts and talk to the man that I have seen around Nashville more than a few times.
Really hoping Jack will add on some more New York dates that are not part of a festival.
I wasn’t ask for a pass code either
PS: And I’m thinking about CORONA CAPITAL, because I want him to have a show in a small venue. But if it’s gonna be something like Bonnaroo, count me in..And to the new members, I’ve bought in 2 pre sales and it never asked me for a pass code, maybe it’s a new policy
@CINCI:Yes, I was at the World’s Fastest Record show, Lubbock and Houston…I’ve been very lucky during the pre sales. I have to say I wasn’t so much into JW until I watched some live shows in youtube and then after Carolina Drama… emotional and musically diverse, but taking you softly through all this music…so now I am confirming this at first hand…his concerts are pure energy, but full of intimate moments…a bunch of sensations. And yes, it’s good to have all this media blitz for those who aren’t able to go to a show or for us to remember and live that moment again. His look like you are looking down the barrel of a gun, ha,mmm right, could be scary or overwhelming…I’d say overwhelming.
Loved the pared-down presentation on Conan. The songs really came through.
