Exclusive Paramount Holiday Bundle

Exclusive Paramount Holiday Bundle

The Holiday spirit has us feeling like spreading the love here at Third Man Records… Spreading the love in the form of extra Paramount goodies! We are offering an Exclusive Holiday Paramount Bundle, which includes a few coveted extras for those whose wonder extends even beyond the Cabinet-of-Wonder!

Beyond The Rise and Fall of Paramount Records, Volume 1, the first bundle extra comes in the form of Third Man's first 78 RPM record, TMR237 "Battle Royale," a duel of sermons between Sister Ernia Mae Cunningham and Reverend H. C. Gatewood, D.D.I.M.R.A. Packaged in vintage, of-the-era card stock sleeves and achieving that proper dull luster that a record in the 1920's would have had, this 78 leaves us unable to decide which fiery "sermon with singing" tips the scale to win the battle, but we look forward to hearing your opinion.

We are also pleased to include Swan Keepsakes from the New York Public Library Paramount Records event held in November, hand-letterpressed by Bryce McCloud at Isle of Printing in Nashville (also responsible for the gorgeous white birch LP folio within the Cabinet-of-Wonder), and a Paramount T-Shirt of your choice (out of the 4 available options).

The first 20 bundles ordered will arrive with a very special extra addition: a Paramount Records Shadowbox. This laser cut standing card is a non-distributed promotional item for the Paramount stem, and will look fantastic in anyone's parlor or record room.

This bundle is available now only while supplies last…

For those of you who haven't yet tumbled into the Paramount rabbit hole, there's some great information coming from Time Magazine and from David Fricke's 5 star review in Mojo Magazine, both available in print now. You can read them here.

Ordered mine day of release (5 mins after it got posted for sale) and my number is in the 1,700 hundreds ..Not cool at all..I ordered early for a chance at getting a low number …now I see here people ordering it 2 weeks later and getting low numbers….Get your act together TMR…and now we get shafted with the added new bonus they are adding to boost sales ( i’m done with my complaining)….Btw its a fantastic set…

All y’all who’ve bought this thing and are listening to it need to start chiming in about your favorite artists and tunes. You might have heard something I haven’t yet that I need to queue up, or your thoughts on something I have heard may make me go back and listen to that song differently. C’mon!

Hopefully my previous comment re: the newly added “Bundle” doesn’t overshadow the fact that this set is absolutely amazing. It really is some of my favorite stuff in my ridiculous record collection.

Though I still feel like those of us who supported this cause early on are getting the shaft. Holiday discounts and the inclusion of already existing items to push this … I get. But to suddenly throw in such a unique component to this package that those of us who bought this early on don’t get to purchase. Something just ain’t right about it.

Regardless, I’m spinning this thing daily.

Mine (bought in the store day of release) is 1,100-something. The guy I work with who ordered his from tmr.com two weeks later got 64. They’re definitely not giving them out in order. Be sure to pop back in as you listen to the tunes, Raw, and let us know what gems you find. A few of us have been comparing favorites in the comments to one of the other news announcements.

What number set did you other vault members get? I got #302 in case nobody reads my previous run on post haha

Well I ordered mine on Dec 12 and picked the cheapest shipping and still got in Saturday the 14. This thing is crazy. I got the shadow box too so I was in the first 20. I got a few TMR online gift cards, what a present and it lowered the price a ton so what I paid myself was insane for this box set. I was worried more about the box and all that. Would it try to look good but be cheaply made? No, it is very, very well crafted. It is heavy. My shipping box said 28lbs. The box itself and everything are very nicely constructed. The albums are awesome and sound much better than I thought. I thought there would be even more hissing and popping. It is not bad, especially if you take 10 seconds and adjust some settings on your receiver. I got #302 of 5000. I emailed TMR and said they should set something up for Volume 2 so people who got the first one can get the first crack at ordering and getting the same number. That would be cool to have #302 of volume! Anyways, I ordered this set at like 1 in the afternoon on the 12th, and 10 mins later got an email saying it shipped. Crazy, Got it less then two days later. So awesome but a huge distraction for my finals studying haha

Had a nice reply from sales basically saying what we feared that they would only be available as part of the holiday bundle but if there are any extras they would be put on-line separately – so no holding your breath while you wait to buy a 78rpm :)

Steven Lade, you make some excellent points. It’s great how you used what it says at the beginning about the holiday spirit and spreading love. Awesome. I also love how most of these conversations are pretty one sided. It’s so great.

As this post says at the beginning "….The Holiday spirit has us feeling like spreading the love here at Third Man Records… " spread a little love to those that have splashed out on this beauty (or at least give us your views on the points being raised).

I have the wonder cabinet and love it but I’m joining the chorus here. Would be nice if the extras were made available.
