The Raconteurs
“(embargoed from sharing the title)” one-sided single
scums stats: WOULDN’T YOU LIKE TO KNOW?
Hard to believe I’m even doing one this week, but the collectibility has me all keyed up. Multiple covers? Multiple paper colors? Only given out to Ultra Ticket purchasers? SIGN ME UP.
Everybody is gonna want one, so let me just pre-emptively tell you…I don’t have any to spare!
You wanna place bets on the high price these reach on Discogs? Will anyone be able to collect ALL four?
Good luck to those trying, as you will need it.
You know, this song originally wasn’t going to be on the album. But Swank and I had to explain to the band how DAMN GOOD it was. It makes multiple statements that need to be made. The performance is tight…who even knew Brendan could DO that?
People who won't play the game the hard way, let’s do easy. Let’s give away a test pressing for commenters. You’ve got a week to get it in there. Tell me your favorite Third Man moment of the past ten years. I may use discretion or I may just pick a comment at random, so everyone has a chance.
Seeing the Raconteurs for the first time at the TMR10 party was epic, but besides that… seeing The Craig Brown Band play was f’n amazing. I love his album, and he was even better live. I never really understood what reverb was until I saw him play. His guitar tone was absolutely amazing. I’ve never heard anything like it. I was truly in awe!
My favorite memory is the balloon launch to play a record in outer space. I was on the computer for what seemed like hours, following this TMR spectacle!
Jack asking me on stage 4 years ago!
I’ve never been so all I have as a “moment” was you giving me a shout out during one of your live video interviews ….wooh??
My favorite moment ever has to be the Raconteurs Blue Room performance on Monday. The most interesting or memorable has to be RSD 2018 in Detroit to kick off the tour. I was hanging with friends all night crazy camping for RSD. To escape the cold I briefly went inside the store. I sat down and realized there was some sort of 1970s adult film being shown, and the actors were on stage. All this while sitting next to the band Adult. Hey, it was warm though. Interesting and I will remember for a long time. LOL
Went to see The Kills in Nashville and then to TMR the next day. Loved it!! Great store! So much to see. Make lots of time or more than one trip! Best damn record company!!!
last year, Jack’s show in Chicago at The Metro. no I wasn’t front row – more like back row but I felt like I was in another universe. the show was amazing and the people were beyond amazing and friendly- I thought something must be wrong. why are these people so nice? I’ve been to other third man events but something was in the air that night.
My favorite TMR moment would have to be my first time at Cass for RSD last year. You greeted every fan walking in, and my sister and I asked you to sign our postcard. You graciously wrote my sister a Dear Abby letter questioning your heavy flow and mine was signed assuring that you’ve committed no felonies. This is just one example of how awesome TMR is.
Until last week, my favorite moment would have been Devil’s Night 2014. I was dressed as Beetlejuice. Everyone seem to like it. I remember Ben Swank calling me out on stage saying he wanted to hang out later. I was told by many people that I would win the costume contest. I did NOT win the costume contest. LOL It was a hell of a fun night. But last week, many Third Man employees wished Chris good luck and a safe surgery. You all are good people who really do care, and I will always remember that.
My favorite experience in the Blue Room was seeing Aziz Ansari live during his most recent appearance. Halfway during his set, he asked for my name and proceeded to use my name in that part of his set (which was about R Kelly) and that had me laughing so hard. I have always thought Aziz was hilarious and being included in the show, even in such a small way, was great.
