@RT, loved your post. . . check out the L.A. Times review that just came out this morning. Jack’s gonna have such a warm welcome here next week!!! “Consider the wonder and magic of conjuring a song from the ether. Creating from a mix of oxygen, blood, water and energy a few minutes of something real, something melodically memorable, something as durable as the architecture surrounding us and the technology enveloping us…” http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/music/la-et-ms-jack-white-lazaretto-review-20140606-column.html
I received my record yesterday (N in Texas). First of all, the record is awesome. The hologram looks amazing! I love the fact that you can play Just One Drink with an acoustic intro or an electric intro. I tried the 78 rpm hidden track on side A, and my needle just skipped over the paper. I probably won’t try again so that I don’t damage the needle.
The actual album is great! I’ve listened to it twice now, and so far I think I like it more than Blunderbuss. Great package!
When will international shipping start?
My first name starts with G!
Anyone’s record not 180 gram? Mine is distinctly thinner than your typical 180 gram (when compared to raconteurs live at the ryman vault release). Its about thickness of a standard record. Download card did not work—- but I can see that not working till street date.
Got mine yesterday, just opened it this morning. Mine has a small nick in the edge as well. Didn’t see the hologram right away, but will hit it with a light this evening. Can’t wait to listen!!!
I think it is kept hidden… But there must a lot of members this time !
For those of you that received their package, I wonder if it is a gatefold sleeve or not, I guess I will be disappointed, but I’d be really glad if it was ! :D
As an “international” member (Australian) I think it still may be some time before I get this in the mail.
As a newbie to both JW and the Vault does anybody know how many members there are?
Or is it kept hush hush?
awesome
Seriously… Jack if you do not win a single Grammy for this album there needs to be heavy and heated discussion of forming a TMR Music Militia to regulate such injustice. I was disappointed enough when you didn’t win one for Blunderbuss, but I might actually lose it if you don’t win something for Lazaretto. Also the gritty tone you captured on the vinyl… um AMAZINGLY delectable. Absolutely an audible delicacy that I will gorge my ears on over and over. Now I do not think life without that pedal is going to be a possibility, because that pedal is so distinct and sounds sooooo good regardless of what instrument is using it. I could never thank you enough for doing all you do from being an inspirational non-conformist, offering such a great service in The Vault membership and just making me a better musician and person. I am forever grateful and in your debt. xoxoxo
I’m a ‘W’ in Seattle and received my package yesterday (wed 5th)… It’s really rather lovely… :-D
