Nicholas Bryner: Which vocals?
Are the vocals clipped / distorted on anyone else’s copy of the Raconteurs’ album? I’m wondering if I have a bad copy or it’s a problem for everyone?
Hey Raw, My Rawhide and Tobacco vinyl record looks black too looking down at it in even in a bright lit room. It was when I held it up to a lamp and then put it up to a window that I could see the color. When I hold the album up to a window I can see through it and see the bare trees in our backyard. Now that really looks spectacular. It looks like a really cool picture disc. You have to hold the album up to a light source to see the color.
My Vault package arrived today! I couldn’t get the post office fast enough.
Sadly the Dead weather record is not 100% pressed properly and wont play on my record player. There is a warpe in one area which makes it glitch every rotation on both sides.
But the Raconteurs is beautiful, looks great and sounds like a dream!!

Got mine from today and it was my first ever Vault package. I am a little dissapointed that the Rawhide and Tobacco is a black vinyl record, for me at least. It is nothing like the picture. I realize maybe upping the contrast for visualization purposes but I looked at mine in 5 different rooms at my house and I don’t care what anyone says, it is black…
I finally got by the post office to pick up Vault Package #18 = my first VP. No complaints. Yes, the one album looks black until I went to a window and held it up in the bright shining wintery sun and it is what was promised only I would have to say that the color looks like dark cherry to me….kind of took my breathe away. Colored vinyl is so beautiful to me it is hard for me to play the colored records but with these records I am going to try. The dvd will get played first. In Conclusion: very sweet package. “merci”
Ok, so just went to play disc 2 – lump of glue on track 2! As my stylus breathes a sigh of relief I have to ask where is the quality control? If the same pressing plant is being used for the vault albums, might be time to buy a new one!
Anybody mentioned anything about the extremely dark brown/black album to the vault e-mail? Mine is nothing like the one advertised…
LOVING the new Dead Weather tracks. How can a band be retro and ahead of its time all at once? Looking forward to the future tracks (and the album).
