yeah ever everyone should have the same opp to get SATAN but we just feel a special vault release with demos, maybe,a live show with a customized colored GMBS.your right kali everyone should be able to get the album! But vault mmembers should get it in extra special way? aint that right brother RAW?
I love #18!! Especially “Rough Detective”! Sort of hoping that #19 will be some new White Stripes stuff?? Or just Jack?
Totally agree with you, RAW. They could do a super neato edition for the vault, bag a bunch more vault suckers, then release a plain ’ol black vinyl 6 months later for the masses – sorta like the elephant repress last year for Record Store Day. I think candy apple red vinyl GBMS would be awesome!
I think if they released GBMS for a Vault Package, membership would go up a bunch!!
(sorry, next time I’ll check for typos before posting…haha!)
I kind of want to play the “Guess vault #19” game, too! I was noticing that they used to do the TMR Singles type 12" from time to time, but they haven’t done one of those lately. Either they’ve abandoned the idea a bit, or we’re due for one. I wouldn’t particularly be crazy for it, but you never know how it might look. I personally wouldn’t mind seeing some kind Seasick Steve package, like thye’ve done for Wanda, Karen Elson, etc. He’s pretty rad. Is it fair to assume this quater’s 7" might be the next installment of new Dead Weather tracks?
VP#18 is my first VP: While I was reading your comments it started snowing outside. I think that is a good sign. New year, fresh start with the world covered in white. Thanks to Meg White we got Jack White…or else we would all be calling him Jack Gillis, which would be fine too. I still haven’t started my White Stripes music collection yet. I did buy a red vinyl 45 of WS’s music from the Rolling Record Store when it was parked outside of the TMR complex during Record Store Day in 2011. The colored vinyl is so pretty I can’t play it on my record player with a cheap needle (remember the days when I had the best equipment but the older I get the more I am downsizing and don’t want to go backwards and upgrade to the best equipment again). I like to give the colored vinyl away as gifts. Raw I gave that red vinyl 45 to a 101st Airborne Division band member who, along with other army band members, is helping soldiers who are returning from war zones by running a program called SOAR (Sounds of Acoustic Recovery) at Ft. Campbell, KY. I was in a songwriting class on post with a couple of the band members (one deployed to Afghanistan and another is deployed there right now). The class was called “Operation Song” held by successful Nashville based songwriter, Bob Regan. I was able to get into the songwriting class since I am a vet and the husband was in the army and went to 4 wars over 12 years(the first Gulf war, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq). I was happy to be able to attend the songwriting class and officially co-wrote my very first song (titled: “Married To The Military”) earlier this year at age 59. I was so grateful for the experience I gave Bob my colored LP vinyl from attending the Jerry Lee Lewis concert TMR put together for RSD 2011. Anyway, before I keep rambling on I want to tell you I love your ideas for a WS box set and have to “ditto” Eric’s words, “Are you listening TMR?” and “ditto” what Kali is saying about such a box set being available to everyone wanting to buy it. I’m ready to buy all of the White Stripes music in a collection/one big bundle. PS: I hope Meg is getting royalty checks from all of the continued sales of the White Stripes music. She served her country well…in her own way. It’s cool Raw that you brought White Stripes music to the war zone in Iraq to help you cope with being there. By the way, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! That Nashville based songwriter, Bob Regan, continues to work with the Wounded Troops Battalion on post writing songs with soldiers as a way to help them in their recovery from being deployed to war zones.
It’s great that you post! The conversations here are terrific, both the ones in which we all agree and the ones in which we don’t. But you seemed to echo an attitude that shows up sometimes— that we’re entitled to more, more, more because of the money we spend. That makes no sense. The money we spend for a Vault subscription gets us special things. It doesn’t make us special. As for GBMS being a Vault release, there are fans out there who care just as much about the music but who can’t afford a Vault subscription. Shouldn’t they have a shiny new Satan, too?
Well My friend, I spend alot of money on this site and a extra 60 bucks to be a vault member and that comes with this message board to post on so post i shall!!
