The Third Man Records Vault Subscription Service, responsible for the quarterly packages of limited edition vinyl records you all know and love and exclusive merchandise as well as the inside scoop on Third Man goings on and concert pre-sales, is proud to announce a new perk for its members. All Third Man Records Platinum Vault members already pay $60 (US) per quarter for their subscriptions to the Vault. Beginning today all Platinum Vault members (new and existing) are eligible to ALSO have TIDAL HiFi subscriptions (normally $19.99/month) for only an additional $5/month (totaling of $65/quarter (US) for your Vault subscription and unlimited access to high quality streams). This 75% discount on TIDAL HiFi subscriptions remains in effect in perpetuity, for as long as a Vault member's subscription remains active and uninterrupted. TIDAL, an artist-owned and artist-friendly streaming service, has two tiers of subscriptions: a standard quality $9.99/month version (TIDAL Premium), and the high-fidelity, CD-quality, lossless audio $19.99 version (TIDAL HiFi) we are offering to Platinum Vault members at 75% off, as well as exclusive content and access to intimate live shows around the world.
Vault members can access their promo code to unlock this discount in their Third Man Store Account Dashboard, and should proceed to http://tidal.com/ and "REDEEM VOUCHER" to enter their code. The discount will remain in effect for as long as the Vault member's subscription is continuously active, but please note, this is a ONE TIME discount. Once a Vault subscription is cancelled, the discount code is with which it is associated will be disabled and cannot be reactivated. Any interruption in Vault membership will result in the irreversible invalidation of the associated coupon. To clarify, if you cancel your subscription on your current e-mail address, your $5 TIDAL subscription then becomes a $20 subscription, and this cannot be reversed.
TIDAL is available via browser and mobile device, using Google Play and the Apple App Store.
Today is a particularly good day to join the Vault + TIDAL Hifi because Jack White's final acoustic performance in Fargo, North Dakota last week, which streamed live on TIDAL and the Vault, has now been archived and is available to stream in its entirety in both locations. To top it off, Jay Z announced on Wednesday that he will be putting on a Special TIDAL X Jaÿ Z B-Sides Concert, which will stream exclusively on TIDAL on May 13th.
Because we are announcing this partnership on the 1st day of a new Vault quarterly cycle (the soon-to-be-announced Vault Package #25), we are allowing new members who sign up this week (before next Friday, May 8th at 5pm CST), to purchase Vault Package #24 in addition to their new membership, an extension of the deadline, of sorts. If you sign up for a Vault Platinum subscription in the next week and are interested in receiving the Loretta Lynn Vault Package, which features a reissue of the Jack White-produced Van Lear Rose 12" LP with a previously unreleased bonus track, a 7" of White Stripes covers of Lynn's classic songs, an exclusive DVD of Lynn and White revisiting the time of Van Lear Rose in conversation and song, and a few extra treats, give our Vault customer service department a call at (615) 891-4393 x315 in the next week to secure your package as an addition to your new subscription.
Got questions about how any of this works? Feel free to e-mail vault@thirdmanrecords.com for answers! Enjoy your unlimited access to great-quality music, dear friends!
UPDATE: PLEASE NOTE, IN YOUR DASHBOARD, YOUR CODE WILL SAY "STATUS-USED." THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOUR CODE HAS ALREADY BEEN USED AT TIDAL. PROCEED TO TIDAL, REDEEM VOUCHER, ENTER THE CODE, AND YOU WILL SEE YOUR SPECIAL PRICE REFLECTED THERE.
HOWEVER, WE ARE EXPERIENCING AN ISSUE WITH CUSTOMERS WHO ALREADY HAVE EXISTING TIDAL SUBSCRIPTIONS, AND WE ARE WORKING ON IT! WE WILL HAVE YOU UP AND RUNNING ASAP...
@Datch I’m not questioning the way it’s setup in different companies to charge different amount, I’m questioning the statement above that says “for only an additional $5/month” it doesn’t say only $5 for USA, it says a blanket $5 for everyone, I mean I don’t pay extra $ for my Vault Subscription in the UK (apart from I contribute extra to postage which is more than acceptable). What I’m saying is if we in the UK/EU have to pay €5 or £5 they need to be clear about that. Then if that’s the case I’ll just subscribe to the USA model instead via a free VPN account.
Let’s hope it gets cleared up soon, thanks Ben & Cam I’ll maybe sign up again once it’s sorted and give it a whirl. I appreciate that it’s a new service and all but I guess shit happens. Thanks TMR
I am very excited to only pay $5 bucks and thank TMR endlessly. I just wish Tidal customer support was better. Doesn’t matter if you are a new or old company. TMR has great customer service/support. Tidal not so much still no reply. Just stating no issues with TMR here. Thanks guys for all your hard work.
@Alan Tidal has it set up in that way. I pay 5€. It’s the same as any other streaming company in that way.
@Ben Swank Can you also look into why UK people are been charged £5 GBP a month as well, and not $5 as stated as well.
Fyi just signed up I have faith in you guys to get it all worked out! Listening right now.
Thanks Rev. Swank and Cam for this reassurance. As I was going to finally sign up today. Yay! Payday! Als I wow some really great stuff in those recording sessions. I have been through them all thanks for posting them for all. I listened to them for two nights at work Definately have some favorites in there. It has been nice to be able to have my family listen as I don’t have a way to record mine and have played it once for my kids. Oh and my name is spelled wrong in the listing just like my label that had to be corrected. Guess I need to learn how to make the letter L not look like a C. Giggles Hope your day gets better Guys. Going to sign up now let’s see how it goes.
Hey all,
This was, in fact, a communication error within TIDAL’s customer service. Nothing is going to change. The $5 TIDAL subscription will be available for Vault members indefinitely. Let’s be honest here — TIDAL is a new project, and the Vault is still blowing our minds with what we can do with it. Our end-goal here is to integrate two services that have their own operating systems in place and that is not going to come without some bugs. But we wanted to be able to offer members this new facet of the Vault subscription as quickly as possible. We do it for you guys! Thank you for your patience and understanding while these bugs are de-loused, and accept this apology for the inconvenience
Thanks for looking into this, Ben. It’s a shame that what started out as a really amazing thing you guys did for us, has now evolved into a headache for everyone involved.
Are people getting this email just ones who had their trial switched? I signed up after the 5 dollar announcement and have yet to receive the email.
