RECORD STORE DAY AT THIRD MAN RECORDS: JACK WHITE & THIRD MAN RECORDS PRESENT…

T H E W O R L D ’ S F A S T E S T R E L E A S E D R E C O R D

LIMITED EDITION “LAZARETTO” SINGLE TO BE RECORDED LIVE, PRESSED & RELEASED APRIL 19 FOR RECORD STORE DAY

On April 19th, Record Store Day, Third Man Records will present Jack White recording the World’s Fastest Released Record, studio-to-store, in the history of mankind.

You heard correctly. First thing in the morning, Jack White will take the stage in Third Man's blue room and record direct-to-acetate what will serve as the limited edition version of his next single, a live rendition of the title track from his upcoming LP Lazaretto. The masters will be rushed over to United Record Pressing who will immediately begin pressing 45s. The sleeves will be printed from pictures taken at the show. The finished records will be whisked back to Third Man to sell to awaiting fans. All in the same day. All in a matter of mere hours. As long as there are fans in line waiting to buy the single, United will continue to press and deliver them to Third Man to sell. Even if it takes all day.

In addition, Whirlwind Heat will appear at Third Man to play their first live show since 2006 (and likely their last ever), as their TMR classic Do Rabbits Wonder? LP is reissued on a variety of colored vinyl for Record Store Day.

Plus a great selection of local vendors will be on hand to keep everyone well-fed and refreshed… and there will, as always, be some surprises.

Tickets for this whole day —“Ultra Tickets” — are extremely limited and will be available exclusively through The Third Man Records Vault to Platinum Members. Ultra Ticket holders will get to watch Jack White live recording his World’s Fastest Record, Whirlwind Heat’s afternoon performance, and will receive copies of both The World’s Fastest Record 7” and the Whirlwind Heat Record Store Day LP release — all without having to wait in line! Vault Platinum members who are ticket holders need only show up, see Jack White play, hang out for a bit and eat, watch Whirlwind Heat (last show EVER??) and then, as they leave, pick up their bag with both RSD releases. No lines. No stress.

For those who can’t score tickets, The World’s Fastest Record will be made available for sale from the front of Third Man Records as soon as copies are pressed. Anybody who shows up that day during business hours wanting to purchase a copy will get one. Third Man promises to deliver until all customers are satisfied (one per customer, obviously!). The World’s Fastest Record will only be available at Third Man Records on Record Store Day. One time only!

Ultra Tickets for Record Store Day will be available via The Vault Pre-Sale ticket store at 3pm CT today, Thursday, April 3rd. JUST A GOLD SUBSCRIBER? SIGN UP FOR A PLATINUM MEMBERSHIP HERE.

ROJA, It’s great you are taking care of your hearing. You are going to have the time of your life! That’s how I feel about going to shows in the Blue Room. It’s fun to hoot & holler and know you’ll be on the records made from the show you are at. Have a safe flight to and fro! Dang again on the ticket policy for Blue Room Shows. Now folks are saying they are getting their tickets in the mail for this show. I had no idea TMR did that. Mine are always on the WILL CALL list. If it were any other way I would be afraid my tickets would get lost in the mail…with my luck. Anyway, it is going to be a ‘crazy’ time at TMR next weekend. I need to take a break from ‘crazy’ for a bit but I’ll be back on 7th Ave. again in the future to meet more cool TMR fans and be involved in whatever ‘crazy’ activities TMR peeps come up with next.

I just received an email saying that my tickets were mailed out and I should see them Friday or Saturday.

ROJA

@CINCI: I swear I won’t sell my ticket, I’m taking a plane just for this show =)
Thanks for the advice, my ears appreciate it. Now that you talk about this, Some years ago I had to make me an audiometry as a requirement in a job and the doctor told me I had the ear of a deer, even listened to the most insignificant sound; I was surprised cause I listen to music loud and of course the concerts, but I’ll take care and some earplugs for Jack too.

Received my tickets in the mail yesterday! They are beautiful! See you next weekend! :D

So upset I missed out on these tickets.

PS#2" Dang ROJA, I didn’t mean to say most people don’t care that the music is loud. The fact is they really don’t know the loud music is actually doing damage to their hearing. I like to listen to music within the safe decibel levels. That is probably why I really get into following the songwriter society in Nashville. When you go to a songwriters in the round show the music is at great sound levels for enjoying it without it hurting your hearing. I do have decibel meter. Some day soon I am going to start taking it to shows with me just to see how loud the music gets and for how long and I will know if people’s hearing is actually getting damaged at music shows. / Believe me I am not trying to be a nag here, and believe me too, when I say I do worry about our precious Jack’s hearing too.

PS: OOPs, that was supposed to be an environmental health tech / preventive medicine specialists. I really don’t like that people are getting their hearing damaged at music shows. Most folks don’t seem to care since they are having a lot of fun but damn, that’s really going to hurt their quality of life later on down the road. Actually, as a fan of Jack White’s, I do worry about him losing his hearing and then the quality of the music he plays will be effected because he can’t hear what he is playing as well as if he had protected his hearing all the time.

ROJA, Smart that you called to double check the WILL CALL policy. I had no idea TMR handed out tickets early. That still makes it possible for someone to go into the store, pick up their ticket and be able to sell their ticket to someone else for more than they paid for it. I’d think that they would make everyone do the WILL CAll ticket pickup right at the door right before you enter so no one could get away with selling their ticket for more than face value. I have purchased two tickets online and then only I could go. When I got to the door I told the TMR folks my kid couldn’t make it and they could give that ticket to someone waiting to see if they could get in after everyone else was let in. There are people that show up for the shows without a ticket and can buy one at the door, if they are not sold out yet of course. / I know what you mean about JW liking the music loud. I will have to assume that he has some hearing loss, as most musicians and audio/sound people do. Once upon a time I was and environmental health specialist/preventive medicine tech. I protected my hearing before getting all that knowledge but after from the schooling I really learned to be careful to protect my hearing. I always wear the big ol ear muffs (you can pick up at home improvements stores) in the Blue Room then I can walk all around and even hang out right at the stage and not feel any pain in my ears or have any ringing (actual damage) in my ears later on. Bring the hearing protection so you can stand it!!!

ROJA

International members’ tickets are WILL CALL, Rebecca told me you can pick them up the day before store hours with an ID. I think US members will be send by e-mail.

RKanas0522

Maybe I missed this but are the tickets for RSD being mailed to our mailing address or do we pick them up at Third Man?
