After many years of performing in a multitude of configurations, Jack White is announcing that he will be taking a break from performing live for a long period of time. To cap off the Lazaretto world tour, and following his pair of headlining performances at Coachella, Jack will embark on a short acoustic tour of the only five states left in the U.S. that he has yet to play. The states these shows are occurring in will be unannounced until the day of each performance. Joining Jack on his jaunt across these locations will be musicians making up an acoustic quartet, including Fats Kaplin, Lillie Mae Rische and Dominic Davis. The shows will be totally acoustic and amplified only with ribbon microphones to the audience as well. These shows will be the very first totally acoustic full concerts Jack has ever done.
Each special acoustic performance will be announced day of show at 8am local time. Tickets for these engagements are priced at $3 per ticket and will be limited to one ticket per person. All tickets will be sold at the venue door starting at 12pm local time on the day of the show – first come, first served and cash only.
Vault members. We would not leave your fate to... well... fate. We will announce show details to you in confidence 1 hour before the general announcement the morning of each show, at 7am local time. In each of the states we visit, we will also set aside 1 ticket for every Vault member whose address on file is within said state. Vault members in each particular state will have up until 1 hour before doors open at each venue to claim their $3 ticket with a photo I.D. and cash. If the ticket goes unclaimed, it will be released to the line.
This timing is strict, our perception of state lines is strict, and the one-per-person rule is strict. Don't go changing your address now in preparation. We know where you really live, and it will be obvious to us if you just happen to be moving across the country or over the state line upon this announcement going live.
We can't wait to see you next week...
Alaska, Idaho, Wyoming, North Dakota and South Dakota?
So sad that this excludes those of us that live in rural areas. I’m quite sure that I live in one of these states but a minimum 3-5 hour drive from any ‘city.’ No way I’d be able to get tickets by the time I got there. :(
If I had six guesses : Alaska, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and the Dakotas
So what states are we 100% positive he hasn’t played?
This is just amazing and sad for me at the same time. I have seen Jack play 3 times here in Toronto Canada. It would be amazing if he would just swing by Toronto for one more Canadian show. we all know Jack and he will come back in a few years with new and amazing music and a world tour. We will have to do with Vault packages which will most likely offer a number of live performances form this year and 2012 to keep the shakes at bay. Thank you Mr. White for the amazing show last summer and I look forward to seeing you again….and please release Pokey Lafarge live in blue room. wink.
Hope Chicago doesn’t really count for Illinois. It’s kind of different down here around Cairo! :) !
Still sad, but thank you Jack for the 6 best shows I’ve experienced. They were supposed to be 8 but still very fortunate. After the hard work you deserve time with your family and to do all those projects you want to do. We’ll be supporting those projects and waiting for new amaizing live performances whenever you’re ready. Much love.
I’ve seen Jack more times than I’ve seen any other live performer. I hope this isn’t forever. But if it somehow turns out that way, I’m thankful for the amazing (AMAZING!) memories from those shows. The man is a legend in his prime.
So sad to hear this. Jack is hands down the best live act ever and my favorite musician of all time. But he does work so hard he does deserve a break. Rest up Jack but don’t leave us for too long. We will miss you. :‘( :’( :’(
Aww Kali- you know every time Jack changes his path that he comes back and surprises us with something bigger and better than we ever could have imagined…. wait for it…..it will come!
