THE DEAD WEATHER ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM DODGE & BURN
SPECIAL DODGE & BURN VAULT PACKAGE AVAILABLE NOW
Way back in October 2013, The Dead Weather and Third Man Records announced an incredibly special 7” featuring “Open Up (That’s Enough)” b/w “Rough Detective” as part of Vault Package #18. These two tracks were a fierce battle cry heralding the announcement of a brand new Dead Weather album that was to be released in a revolutionary fashion. Teased out over the past year and a half via a series of 7” singles, the physical versions of which were ONLY available via The Vault (Third Man’s one-of-a-kind subscription mail-order service), the band promised this would culminate in a brand new album in 2015. The third Dead Weather LP would be a full length album comprised not only of the previously released 7” singles, but newly recorded, previously-unheard material. Today, The Dead Weather officially announce their new album Dodge & Burn.
Dodge & Burn will be released worldwide in September 2015 on Third Man Records and will feature eight brand new songs, along with the four previously released tracks remixed and remastered. Alison Mosshart, Jack White, Dean Fertita and Jack Lawrence spent their rare and sporadic free moments over the past year recording together in Nashville. With the members of the band heavily involved in other projects, The Dead Weather will not be touring in support of the new album. Thankfully the thick and heavy Dodge & Burn will satisfy your urges for the dark magic that is The Dead Weather for a very long time.
- A limited edition Dodge & Burn LP on Inclement Weather vinyl (that is to say opaque yellow with black ‘debris’) housed in a soft-touch embossed sleeve featuring metallic ink and a Vault-exclusive alternate cover designed by Rob Jones, also featuring a limited edition bonus poster inside.
- The only physical version of the new Dead Weather 7” and single from Dodge & Burn on yellow vinyl with black debris.
- A deck of custom Dead Weather playing cards designed by Silent Giants featuring the band members as the King, Queen, Jack and Joker. Previously released in limited numbers and now, due to popular demand, re-issued for the Vault only with new packaging artwork.
Subscriptions for Vault Package #25 are open until July 31st, visit http://thirdmanrecords.com/vault to sign up now! And if you need a reminder of what you’re in for, here are some clips from the previously released tracks from the upcoming album:
i apologize again but i will certainly say what i like on my birthday!!!
im especially interested in that single … even if this wasnt an early release of an exclusive cover design … i would feel like the single was the real catch of the day…. and to think i was going to kick my membership back down to gold because i got pissed about some TMR communications issues & policy protocols that make no sense…. the products and the artists keeps me here … clearly its not the enlightening conversation … no offense intended to the majority of folks who know me to be good natured but some folks are cruel in this community as if that sort of creative force ever did anyone any good … go back your hate forums you mirror people and let us enjoy the artistry….. and stay off my facebook page….. thanks but no thanks
and now for the post i came here to share…. for those who love the minutia as beautiful expression…. i found this image on the dead weather web page and basically it references bauhaus/love and rockets prototype band tones on tail which is the coolest sound ive been jammin lately …. check it out … https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xta1/v/t1.0-9/p480x480/11059749_10153481653524110_5978638263857537420_n.jpg?oh=d617d33975a946f1cfd1e2f83f8d59e6&oe=5641E0D1 …… im not sychophantastic … i just love music that echoes the idea that music is the most pure form of sympathy …. thank you Jack and friends for once again honoring Daniel Ash and Budgie and all those other great artists who get swept away in the media industries rush to sell more mediocracy…. its not parents who make the world mediocre… its money grubbers who want to make a buck on other peoples creativity which is the purest form of inflation as self congratulating greed…. here…. https://m.youtube.com/watch?list=PLGjk9FUwqCgZ-zmHzGm2hqQbzh-FbO2EL&v=Iddd3b-4M0Q ….. go listen to the beauty of the muse as tones on tail and love&rockets …. this makes dodge and burn all the better to know there may be some homage in the works…LOVE IT …. NOT HATE IT
what a load of crap….. whats this bullshit about “nothing worse than a parent who praises mediocre effort from a child…” …. sheesh what a freakin nazi….. oh please let me not explain how many millions of worse things there are than a parent praising their shild for any reason… get over your superiority purse of tight lipped hatred already…. having an opinion about others feelings is so judgemental and seriously high school sophomore yesterdqy… people like what they like and feel what they feel and TMR is going to offer what they can to insure that fans are following the artists process and progress… some of you are so hyper critical that you make other peoples lives a living hell FOR NO REASON ATALL save your need to ‘feel superior’ which translates to tricking people into buying your empty popularity notions of might makes right and war of attrition on TMR Chat and worst of all those flippin EBAY overpriced auctions you shill out with you exclusive collector buy three to sell two notions of affording your superiority elitist methods of online disguise and social torment….. just get over your harassment ass attitude of what you think should be in your vaultie clutches already
Stacelings: Hahaha! Funny that you’ve apparently missed all the packages I’ve been excited about. But when I do express a negative opinion, I don’t do it as a “service”, I do it because I hope that TMR appreciates their fans being candid with them. There are people who hesitate to express negative opinions here in the Vault because they worry about how they’ll be perceived. I wonder why. I’d rather be honest and run the risk of sometimes being perceived as superior and opinionated than to be perceived as sycophantic.
@ KaliDurga I guess I would prefer to not hear you complain every package and act like its a service of some sort. It’s tiresome and in poor taste as is the rest of your superior opinionated nonsense.
I’m down with Durga. Doesn’t mean people don’t love TMR. Nothing worse than a parent who praises their kids for doing a mediocre job at something. Same goes for life, when TMR crushes it, they crush it. I don’t think anyone is saying anything different, but Durga has made some very important observations and has every right to express them and to be honest I totally agree.
And every Vault package, the same person comes around bitching about others expressing criticism that 1) they have every right to express and, 2) might actually be useful to TMR’s decision making process. If all TMR ever heard from us was excited glowing praise, then they’d have very little feedback that would make them stop and think about what they’re doing and how, sometimes, they might need to improve things. Every company, every human being for that matter, needs criticism in order to grow and improve.
Seriously please stop with the bitching…no one is forcing us to buy these and if you have some burning need to possess them all that’s all you, partner. Every vault package the same people are dissatisfied. Life is a series of choices choose one. Quietly.
Were I not a long term subscriber to The Vault, I wouldn’t be tempted by this. But I wouldn’t be tempted by a DW album full stop. I do love The Vault, but it’s only the fact that I don’t want to break my 24-package streak that stops me from cancelling this outright. I love some coloured vinyl, but I signed up for exclusive material, not a variation on stuff you can get elsewhere, and to get this for a second package in a row is a serious loyalty test. Sorry Vault I@m grading you a C for tis one; must try harder.
