Olivia Jean
Raving Ghost
Oh man, a record release day coupled with tour kick off in the Blue Room is always a special moment in the TMR world. And for it to be with near-and-dear to our hearts family member Olivia Jean? Well that makes it all the more of a celebration.
And OJ's third full-length record at Third Man is her biggest and best yet. I lobbied REALLY hard for the album to open with the song "Spider" (my fave here) and even though I got voted down, I can certify that this album cooks.
So in honor of the big day, I'm giving away a copy of Olivia's "Raving Ghost" album to a user picked from the comments on this thread. Maybe I'll be discerning, maybe it will be random. So no harm in posting multiple times, of being funny, of finding some sort of response thematically tied to the ideas of "raving" or "ghost." Have fun with it. Or don't. I'm not a cop.
Comments need to be posted here no later than Thursday May 11th to be considered for inclusion. Thems the rules.
Rock and roll!
Absolutely Love this!
Saw OJ perform with Jack White in Seattle a few years ago. Absolutely enjoyed her show and her music. I became a fan back then and now my 9 year old daughter has become a fan too!
I should win this giveaway because my cat told me she really wants the prize, and we all know that cats rule the internet and the world, right? So, it’s basically a win-win situation!
This comment was legitimately written by Chat GPT… which I find interesting because it implies that while the rest of our afraid of chat GPT taking over everything, Chat GPT is worried about cats.
Little ghost, little ghost
One I’m scared of the most
Can you scare me up a little bit of love?
Raving with ghosts could be fun
Rave, Rave, Rave
My godmother said, “don’t leave! The Orinoco flow will be fun!” But in a last ditch effort to tempt fate, I challenged the giant spider to a battle of wits, knowing damn well it could spell trouble for me! After an intense battle of back and forth knowledge dropping, I realized just how much I need you! Oh how I need you! You glorious, new, spectacular vinyl! But alas…. It was too late! The spider had defeated me, and spun me in its silky web! Soon I will be nothing more than a raving ghost!
Olivia Jean rocks!
Hello, this is dog!
This album is great! I have listened to it a few times now. It feels like something from the mid-late 90’s. I can’t figure out what it reminds me of. Maybe Beck, or the Presidents Of The United States, or even No Doubt. It has more rock and roll than most of today’s cleaner sounding pop. I am just not sure what a good comparison is.
