Olivia Jean
Raving Ghost
Oh man, a record release day coupled with tour kick off in the Blue Room is always a special moment in the TMR world. And for it to be with near-and-dear to our hearts family member Olivia Jean? Well that makes it all the more of a celebration.
And OJ's third full-length record at Third Man is her biggest and best yet. I lobbied REALLY hard for the album to open with the song "Spider" (my fave here) and even though I got voted down, I can certify that this album cooks.
So in honor of the big day, I'm giving away a copy of Olivia's "Raving Ghost" album to a user picked from the comments on this thread. Maybe I'll be discerning, maybe it will be random. So no harm in posting multiple times, of being funny, of finding some sort of response thematically tied to the ideas of "raving" or "ghost." Have fun with it. Or don't. I'm not a cop.
Comments need to be posted here no later than Thursday May 11th to be considered for inclusion. Thems the rules.
Rock and roll!
very nice!
Raving Ghost, Raving Ghost,
one I’ve cared for the most
won’t you blare me up a little bit of loooooove?
‘ve done plenty of raving and I’m not a ghost, and I would LOVE win a copy of this, so PICK ME!!!
I’ve been raving since January over the absolutely incredible show Jack and Olivia played at The Belasco!
In a raving ghostly night, trouble found me too late as I realized I need you, my spider-like fate, but you chose to ditch the fun; now, like an orinoco flow, I wander, longing for the guidance of a godmother who has always said “Don’t leave.”
I liked the mix of music the album flowed nice
Really looking forward to this one!
Super disappointed, I missed out on the special purple splatter, but look forward to buying the black vinyl. And now, back to cooking my frozen fish sticks.
“Knock-knock”
<Who’s There>
“Olivia”
<"Olivia Who?>
“Olivia gettin’ down to Raving Ghost? I know I am!!”
Listened to this album all the way through while shortening my life on my graveyard shift position. Honestly, I really appreciate this album. I’m hopeful that I’ll get the opportunity to see OJ live soon.
