Weather For The Blind, Quintronics' Weather Warlock New Orleans base station, is now live!
Weather for the blind is a live streaming site of a musical instrument which is played by the weather. The base station – pictured in the foreground – is called Weather Warlock and is located in New Orleans Louisiana. The weather sensors – pictured in the distant surf – are mounted to a post and detect temperature, wind, sun, and rain. This all analog synthesizer produces a wide range of tones and harmonics based around a consonant E major chord with special audio events occurring during sunrise and sunset.

At minimum someone could host an acoustic concert there as installation art while some other someones were capturing it online…. we know the people have the power on this one…. Hint Hint Hint
I am always glad to see another biorhythmic inspiration come to light for the sake of possibly seeing some very necessary innovation or perspective in the natural world become a sort of solution or dissolution …if you will… to a host of bio-geologic conundrums….. maybe this project will evolve into something like that overtime…. maybe it will run on stand alone rnergy models as well… maybe… any way you look at there is a kind of austere bliss to see nature honored… Not that new forms of life should evolve but wouldnt it be something if someone were to apply this technological methodology to those strandbeasts (( http://www.ted.com/talks/theo_jansen_creates_new_creatures?language=en )) or explore the possibility of kinetic sculptures not unlike the strandbeasts to this location for variance in percussion and ?tube tones? Come on … lets have some fun TMR!!!
Quintron is the best. I hope I get to catch him on this tour. I missed him last time.
This is spectacular, and quite beautiful. I can’t wait to see what happens at sunset! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for sharing TMR! Really mind blowing stuff- love the storm track- blew my cat’s mind too though! And she was just nicely recovered from the post traumatic stress of hearing Lazaretto’s locked grooves!
If you like this you should check out a Maker Faire to experience things like this live and meet the people that make them. They are all over the world. My friend circuit bends, modes and makes instruments (that’s how I found it) but there are rockets, robots and everything in between.
@Aquamarine, beautifull analogy…Inhaling, exhaling
The sound of the world breathing. I love it.
So thrilling! Thank you.
Spectacular. Thanks Tesla.
