As a reminder, beginning November 1st the Vault subscription price will increase by $5 per quarter. This means your recurring payment amount will increase by $5 USD unless you cancel your subscription before your next payment date.
We will also be offering an annual Vault Subscription option for the first time, which you will pay for upfront in full. This option will not include the price increase mentioned above, so the annual cost (4 quarters) breaks down to $240 US, $280 CAN, $320 INTL. This option will renew automatically every year from the date your annual subscription begins. Please note: Vault packages cannot be returned or exchanged, annual subscription costs cannot be prorated, and annual subscriptions cannot be paused to skip a particular shipment within the year purchased.
STARTING NOVEMBER 1st-- If you are currently a Vault member and would like to purchase an annual subscription, go to thirdmanstore.com, add an annual Vault subscription to your shopping cart and proceed through the check out process. Your new annual subscription will take the place of your current quarterly subscription on your next scheduled payment date.
If you are currently a Vault member but do not want to commit to the annual subscription option and would instead prefer to keep paying on a quarter-by-quarter basis, then no action is required on your end. The price change will be reflected for the first time in your Vault 43 payment which will automatically occur between the sign up period of November 2019 - January 2020.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us at vault@thirdmanrecords.com and we will be happy to help.
@kali I’ve been a member since vault 20. I’m not talking about getting less in the packages. We used to have a message board, we used to get free digital downloads, we used to be able to see all of the past vault packages and there used to be cool, exclusive stuff in the vault store. They would even put out past vault releases in the store every now and then (cool for ppl who weren’t signed up at the time). The vault store is rarely updated now. So I’m talking about stuff like that, I think the packages are fine.
I demand to see the vault in person! #stormthevault They can’t stop us all!
@atrevino – thank you so much! I think you’re right.
It appears the quarterly time frames are changing, for 10 years we paid in October and typically received a package by Christmas. Does this mean in the future we won’t receive Vault packages in December ahead of Christmas? January instead?
@chudd13 – I couldn’t find it either – then I reread it a third time and saw that it said as of 11/01… so come back Friday and the link will hopefully be here? That’s what I’m doing.
@Kali, the total price itself isn’t terrible, but I disagree about the content. I’ve got every package for the past 8 years. I started to see some recycled stuff in terms of things I already owned on vinyl just on a different color or heavier disc etc…
What blows my mind is that Jack doesn’t seem to be involved in any of this. I’ve argued for years that at least one of the Vault packages should be signed. I think 10 would be a fair number without getting ridiculous but at least do one. He doesn’t even make a couple minute audio post or written post.
Can’t help but wonder how long the people who complain about getting less in their Vault packages have actually been part of the Vault. Over the 9 years that I’ve been a member, some packages have been jam-packed with stuff, others have been more stream-lined. But the MUSIC has always been stellar, and it has more than evened out over time (especially with the added benefits of pre-sales and early entry lotteries). I feel bad for international folks who have to deal with excessive shipping costs (thanks, USPS and FedEx!), but a $20 (US) increase per year for the first time in 10 years is pretty damned fair. Some retail establishments increase their prices every single freakin’ year (hell, some of the merch in the store I work for has increases more frequently than that). TMR’s been really nice to us fans by holding off for so long.
Any chance we could get interesting or different records in the Vault Shop? How many Jack White tshirts, stickers, and posters can I person possibly want? The shops lookin’ a little K-marty these days. I mean, I miss and love K-Mart, but they weren’t known for their sweet collection of music and ephemera.
I’ve been paying the same amount since 2010, so a $5 increase doesn’t seem like a big deal to me. QUESTION – when I click on that link, I don’t see the annual Vault subscription offer to add to my cart – where is it exactly? Thanks.
This sucks. We get less from the Vault then we used to, and now have to pay more for it. Lame.
