Here at Third Man, there are myriad textbooks, novels, design journals, websites, posters, newspaper clippings and records (old and new) that inspire the design team on a daily basis, though we don't always reveal our direct influences. This case is the exception to that rule. As another Vault contest, we are offering the vintage Brazilian postcard which provided direct inspiration the art for Vault package #23 -- the White Stripes Live Under Amazonian Lights package! Oh lord…. i had no idea that my mind was a tease…. surely this explains all this embroiled and flaming vault intensity… a thousand pardons Saahiidi…. I hope my factoid is not the same as 87 others even though i find it most relavant to the history of my home state where Dupont first patented rubber to put hemp out of business and where women basketball players were champions in the 1920s because they were the first to sport rubber-soled athletic shoes!!! Just what made that little old ant…. think he could move that rubber tree plant??? …. High Hopes!… good luck everyone and good night…
