Hey folks,
Just wanted to give you a brief update on where we are with shipping the Willie Nelson Vault packages and why we're there. First off, with the guest performances of seven high-profile artists, it's was an absolute Kilimanjaro-height stack of legal contracts, approvals and releases that needed to be precise, to the t, before we could send this off. Through no fault of our own, we didn't have final approval from all the places we needed approval from until the middle of September.
We're sincerely sorry that this release has taken so long to get to you…if only because we're so excited for you all to hear it! The good news is that these will be shipping next week, so the wait is almost over. Also, we're extremely ahead of schedule for the Dead Weather/Raconteurs Vault package #18, so you'll be seeing that gem in record time.
Thanks again for your patience and your patronage. We would be nothing without it.
Sincerely,
Ben Blackwell, Psychedelic Stooge
White Stripes Employee #1 (1997-present)
I think the etching looks pretty nice. Sure, I have to look at it in the light since it’s on transparent vinyl, but I hope we see a few more etchings like this.
In Italy didn’t arrived, it is possible?thanks
Got it Yesterday.
Second vinyl is transparent so I can’t see the etching very well, but still a great package.
regarding the packaging of the lp: got an really dammaged packaging box (scratches and bends more than enough) this quarter, but the lp itself is undammaged! i’m a vault member since #1 and got many really bad damaged vault packages (e.g. #05 “the dreamchild” – was realy wasted when it arrived at my home and still remindes me at some postofficeguy somewhere who must have jumed stmped badly on it and/or dragged it behind his car). i think with the old vault packaging there would be much more harm to this quaters package done.
its a long (and obviously hard) way across the atlantic ocean and the danger of damaged packages – no matter what company they came from – is always given.
tmr has done much to improve the vault packaging and protect the releases as good as possible. i think its not possible to have an better packaging with reasonable costs for everyone… if you think your lp is damaged too much, contact tmr. they will help you.
so thanks, tmr for the good improvement in vault packaging and… yeah, its an pretty good vault package to, this quarter… ;)
keep on doing such a great work!
Has anyone gotten one of the 5 signed posters with their package?
Vault#17 arrived today in the Netherlands, sounds great!… but the vinyl is transparant.. so I can’t see the etching :(
Anyone else got the same transparant vinyls?
I received my vault 17th yesterday and I just had the chance to listen to the 6" with the tower spinning on the top of it…It was amazing…just imagine my face like a dog when he stares at you curiously, turning his head to one side. I’m more than pleased with the whole package. Thanks TMR!
Received my vault package #17 but I’m still at work with no chance to spin the black circle … it’s a pitty
but I’m sure the music will compensate the long waiting
I’m a member since # 12 and i never had seam split or damaged corners. It’ll be great if they would have always a gatefold cover and a small poster like the actual one.
Seriously the packaging for these releases should be much better.
Firstly, I don’t think it’s that hard to have all of the 2LP vault releases have Gatefold jackets instead of cramming 2LP’s into a single sleeve. (Over time they will warp from being stored together like that) And for 66 bucks I don’t think it’s too much to ask to make them have a gatefold.
Secondly, if you ship the records OUTSIDE of the jacket, then they wont split the sides during shipping. Which is the biggest problem with any of these releases is that the majority of them are damaged during shipping by the records sliding around in the jacket. it’s an eyesore to pull out a record you payed so much for, and you see seem splits that weren’t even your fault.
Anyway, the music is really what matters and it’s usually always great. So thank you for that.. =]
