All photos by Doug Coombe, Greg Siemasz, and Jamie Goodsell.
Doug Coombe is a respected photographer best known for his work in and around the Detroit music scene for the past twenty years. Vault members should recognize his name for his photos that have graced both White Stripes and the Go live LPs from the Gold Dollar. Coombe is also the photographer responsible for the huge portraits of Jack and Meg White on the wall at the Third Man Cass Corridor location.

Greg Siemasz is a noted visual artist and author in Detroit. In addition to being the guitarist in underground favorites the Fighting Pinheads, Siemasz has also worked on cult fanzines like Front Porch. White Stripes fans may be most familiar with Siemasz’s painting skills, as he is the artist responsible for the portrait of an elephant as included on the cover the 7” single of “Seven Nation Army.”
Jamie Goodsell is a notable live music and portrait photographer based out of Nashville, Tennessee. He has been Third Man Records in-house photographer since 2012. His work has been featured on numerous live album covers, Third Man’s Blue Series, as well as Rolling Stone Magazine. It comes as no surprise he spends all of his earnings on records.

Precious photo #17 of Janaka and Kiini Ibura! My two favorite poets/authors on Third Man Books! So wish I could have been there. Thank you for sharing photos!
C’mon on down to the Capitol of Southern Rock and Roll. Throw 1 of them Parties here !, Hell I’m an old Man who STILL Rocks and Loves Vinyl and Great Music. Case in point, Ms. Margo Price, which I am Still waiting for ( And Own 2 Autographed LP’s ) That package I signed up for ! Gotta Thank Mr. White and Crew for keeping The Vinyl Dream Alive, at least I know My 4000+ Lp’s will also go on, with TMR. Turned My Granddaughter onto Ms. Price and Ms. Monroe ( Live 12" ). Again, You Have an Invite to Jacksonville, Florida and Thank You TMR. P.S. I LOVE PROMO’S TOO !!!!
PLZ bring The Mummies and/or Danny Brown to Nashville for a live record. Looked like a hell of a weekend.
TMR always throws the best parties for all the right reasons….pay people…. make art…. celebrate zany days…. make money….. keep music sacred in the most fun technological manner possible…. and the fact is that i like their mummies a lot better that the grammy mummies because these mummies can come down the hall hoisting a piano on their back!!!!
It was nice to see the mummies escaped from the art museum & made a musical appearance at TMR. Apparently the ancient mummifucation and preservation was a little too good…lol :p
Looked like an event that will go down in the history of TMR as well as Detroit! A revolution of Vinyl. ♡
Crossed the continent and nearly froze solid, and wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Well-organized event and an amazing facility, more like an art installation than a pressing plant. Congratulations—also, Oblivians awesome.
please help the man with the fish. I mean if had a fish i def wouldn’t have been able to make the scene. fun day with friends new and old.
And thanks to Messrs. Coombe, Siemasz, and Goodsell for the eye-boggling photos!
So many congratulations, Third Man. And many, many thanks for letting so many of us celebrate with you on Saturday, it was a hell of a day. And those records… Out of all the limited edition colored/variant vinyl you’ve created over the last almost 8 years, the records pressed for the plant opening are really and truly special. They’re more than just fancy colors and silk-screened sleeves, they actually mean something because they symbolize the realization of a dream and the promise of an incredibly exciting future. I’m very proud to own them.
