Yo, y’all need to get Chicano Batman up on Tidal. But I’m tickled about all the Koko Taylor stuff on there, as well as the Otises- Redding, Rush, and Spann. And my boss needs to go on vacation more often so I can continue exploring.
Had a chance to explore Tidal today since my boss is off and I didn’t have to worry about music bugging her— Third Man, why haven’t y’all informed us of the On the Third Man Stereo playlist (or did you and I just missed it?)? Great stuff on there! Are you going to continue adding to it?
I’ve been enjoying many of the playlists on Tidal, and I was especially happy to see this one. Usually I have to put these on one by one to hear them (or in the compilation albums), and I find that hearing them consecutively like this shows how Jack’s and TMR’s musical interests spread far and wide. Some of these songs are just plain weird others are brilliant but none of them are surprising! They all seem to make sense here. I’m hoping that some of the Dead Weather B-sides will be available to stream (unless they are already and someone can give me a heads up!).
Oh and BTW – listening to my Tidal right now. It’s really great. So many great artists on it. Also really loving the live streams. Jack’s live stream and Prince’s live stream were amazing. Such a great feature for artists to give to their fans who can’t be at the shows live. So Thanks to Tidal for that option. I hope to see more of these.
My discount voucher/number went through fine. Well, once I was able to figure out how to join Tidal with it. Many thanks again to Cam and the awesome vaulties in chat who helped me figure out how to use it. For those who are having trouble with their voucher number being accepted or for those whose vault voucher number is being taken as a promotional code. DO NOT put your TMR voucher number in where it says “promotional code” where it says “join now”. Instead click on the top right corner where they have three bars in the shape of a box. Join that way and enter the voucher number TMR gave you there. It took my voucher number right away. I double checked my credit card charges and I was charged only $5.00 for the subscription. I have gotten welcome emails from Tidal but nothing that says the TMR $5.00 rate is only for two months. But I will keep checking my statements to see that I’m being charged the TRM rate. But I think part of the confusion here is people may be putting their TMR code in the wrong spot and Tidal is reading it as a promotional code instead of the TMR discount.
Please stop with the Tidal promo stuff Jack! I am calling you out brother. I am the first to admit the quality of your artistry. Why else would i be paying you and your staff $60.00 every three months. Which by the way, that is a lot of money in my world. I am educated enough to understand that if i want to pay more money for higher quality audio, i will when i feel i can. I will also be the first to admit, i was a major label artist at one point in my life. So i am no stranger to what great audio sounds like. However, on a budget, i enjoy buying records, cd’s and Spotify just fine. We rely on you to continue to do the opposite of modern corporate America. Why become a follower now? You are a great leader. You send me the Paramount No.2 box set as a gift and I’ll settle down. Thanx!

Requires thought for some to realize if they fly off the handle they can’t just delete their comment. Think be for you type or typo in my case. Hee hee

Once again, thank you Jack and Third Man for the great discount for Vault members for Tidal. I never used a streaming service before but I am really enjoying this. It is such a great alternative when spinning vinyl is not possible. The sound quality is great. It is also nice to see other Third Man artists on Tidal. I also really enjoyed the live stream of Jack’s last show. I hope Third Man will use Tidal to do more live streams.
Once I get around to this tidal thing its gonna be awesome… and needed … but for now its all schelp and tote… sheesh… i love moving
