"I'll Bet You" - Funkadelic

Bonnie Dee -- "Fade into You" - Mazzy Star
"Regular John" - Queens of the Stone Age
Jamie G. -- "Love Twins" - Diana Ross & Marvin Gaye
Yes, they did an album together and you better believe it WILL set the mood. This song has a killer bass line and when Diana Ross shouts out "I want a lover, not a friend!"…the whole world stops. Believe that.
I want to give props to Eric Carmen for laying down the track, "Hungry Eyes" cause it's kind of a jam…and keeping with that Dirty Dancing nostalgia I hold so dear, there is a song on the soundtrack that introduced me to the meaning of sexy...
"In The Still Of The Night" - The Five Satins
This song has all the essential ingredients for a stellar make out party. Enjoy your evening folks…

"Shook Me All Night Long" - AC/DC
Ben Blackwell -- "Summer Madness" - Kool and the Gang
There's a bit of a disconnect in my head between "song that makes me feel sexy" and "song that I think is sexy" as the longer I've thought about it, I'm not sure a song has ever made me feel sexy. Hell, I'm not sure if I've ever felt sexy at all. I guess my thought of sexiness has always been attached to other people's reactions to me. I've never had that "I look gooood!" feeling looking into a mirror. Regardless, this song oozes…from the laid back rhythm section juxtaposed with the crescendoing synth curls…well, this manifests some representation of sexy.
Ryon N. -- "The Spy" - The Doors
"Back Door Man" - Willie Dixon
Trent T. -- "Roche" - Sebastien Tellier
"There is Nowhere" - Blackbird Blackbird
"Ai Du" - Ali Farka Touré
Sexy=Beats to me…slow and rolling. My first 2 picks are definitely in that world. The Ali Farka Touré song is in a class of sexy all in it’s own, with it’s his voice over the crying strings and finger picking guitar.

My favorite is a toss-up between "I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl" and "Do I Move You," both by Nina Simone. Sugar's compelling because it's slightly more suggestive and I find its mix of desperation and directness really charming (oh, and because it's Nina Simone...), but Move You's the kind you play after one too
many whiskies when ya' just wanna' get the point across.
As for the latter, I'm hard-pressed to think of anything someone else could slyly spin to get me in the mood that wouldn't just make me blush. If, however, they had the gusto and good humor to put on "Debra" by Beck, well, I wouldn't hate that at all.
honestly kristywitha …. Etta James could make any song sexy and i love ‘somethings got a hold on me’ but for the real love maker ya gotta get that al green ‘love and happiness into rotation’ unless you happen to be more of a Peaches fan and then you might as well get yer blue orchid strapped on and crankin…. right now I think ’Cash Grab Complications ’ might be the most appropriate
Although we may have already, ahem, put this one to bed, so to speak, I couldn’t help but think of this thread as I was listening to Etta James today. Her version of ‘I Just Want to Make Love to You’ is gritty and fierce and sexy (as many of her songs are) and definitely belongs on this list. Then I thought about how much she sounds like Alison Mosshart (or vice versa) on TDW’s ‘Gasoline’, which is also gritty and fierce and sexy and has already claimed a spot on this list.
I know that Third Man Records AND Jack and band have been quite busy these past few months but I hope you guys will revive this fun diversion…
Oh yeah! Musicsoul78 Portisehead cannot be forgotten! Love! Off topic CurseofHalos your avitar reminds me of some sort of Eon Flux hybrid makes me wanna search you tube and reminisce.
@ARLARBAR I must say I love Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac but all I can think of right now is ‘How many more times you going to wreck my life…’? That’s a love take not a love maker.
This album makes me feel dead sexy http://thecurseofhalos.bandcamp.com/
YES!!! Thank you for this post! I always have a playlist entitled “Sexy Time” and it is always evolving. I LOVE to hear other people’s ideas about what songs turn them on. Here are my ALL-TIME top-five sexy songs: 5. Glorybox (Portishead) 4. Wicked Game (The Weeknd) 3. King Bee (Slim Harpo) 2. O Children (Nick Cave) 1. Stranglehold (Ted Nugent…yes, I know he’s a horrible human being. But, when that song comes on it’s business time!)
Nina Simone…..hell, yessss!!!
Each time I hear the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Blood Sugar Sex Magik (the song, not the album in its entirety), I feel like Aphrodite incarnate. Neil Young’s Harvest Moon and TWS We’re Gonna Be Friends or Hotel Yorba with the right guy would absolutely melt me, especially if they sang it to me….many funk, motown and jazz numbers would be applicable as well……I am sure there is a Willie Nelson song in there somewhere that I am overlooking….the list goes on and on…thoroughly enjoyed everyone’s input!! I love the musical education I get from exposure to fellow music lovers…
That Fiona Apple song i had forgotton how hot it is KristywithaK totally one of the tops in sexy song those who have not listened you tube it if you can with lyrics!
