SNEAK PEEK AT THE VAULT #30 ITEMS

It's true, folks-- the Vault #30 components are starting to arrive at TMR HQ! Both the pennant and the 7" record jackets arrived safely in-house, which we were pretty giddy to receive. We decided to sit down with our Design Department and get the inside scoop behind the design of these two items. Read on, as you wait patiently for your Vault #30 box set to ship...

(And don't worry, we'll send you a shipping confirmation email when we start packing! It will still be a few weeks until we can begin shipping, so work on your holiday wish list -- hint hint -- and decide now where you're going to hang YOUR pennant. GO TEAM!)

Pennant:

A team pennant is a symbol of unity and pride. With this package encompassing a variety of TMR bands, a “team” banner seemed appropriate. The 3 snake oracle design, also meant to convey unity and connectedness, was originally used on a sweatshirt but translated well to the pennant.

7” record sleeve:
We wanted to carry over the design from the LP with a nod to traditional printed 45 paper sleeves (examples shown below). The paper is thinner than usual, to convey that feel. In this case we went with 80# French Paper White Parchtone Text. The design is meant to convey a double single, with both sides being full covers and the colors reflecting the artist on each side.

If you are using thin paper sleeves for the 7", why would you put “BLUE AND RED SPLATTER 7” VINYL IN A HEAVY PAPER STOCK SLEEVE" as the description in the flyer that was included in the vault package? A thin paper sleeve is not what i think of when i read “heavy paper stock sleeve.” Also, the original announcement said the 7" was “on transparent vinyl with blue and red streaks” and even showed a mockup of a 7" with those streaks in it. The flyer that was included in the package said “blue and red splatter 7” vinyl." I understand a mockup could vary with the final product, but this is completely not what you said it was going to be. Based on fan pictures, there are now three versions of the record that fans have shared pictures of – Red, Blue, and Clear. I noticed that when you look up TMR-400 on your catalog, you have now listed it as two separate releases – a red version and a blue version. Even though the flyer thats included in the package says it would be blue and red streaks. I find it interesting that this mistake made it through any quality control check and packaging without anyone ever saying “wait a minute, why are there three different versions here?” and instead of fixing it, you left it as is and just decided you’d list it as separate releases.

It seems small…

natedoge

what are the dimensions of the pennant?

Just spit it out in plain nonprofessorial English, A_B. You’re “leading us back beyond” ? the evolutionary process into superfluous and metaphorical notions of pop culture.

Apple_Blossom

at this point the lines are being blurred for me as consumer….. the revisiting of standards and banners leads me back beyond pop culture notions to reconsider what we as fans are buying into…. the message is undeniable …. the marketing of these singles is an evolutionary process in itself i believe even though the speculation of metaphorical impacts is purely superfluous to simply enjoying the stylish and expansive host of artistic events

Some of the best sleeves I’ve found have been punk sleeves. Between the pictures and names like “dogshit sandwich”, and “Ed Giens Car” you can’t go wrong.

I love the old sleeves. I have been collecting many over the last couple of years.

On that 7" sleeve— One Jack is looking back, the other is looking forward, though pensively so. Nice effect.

hahaha they’re all good ones.
