@CINCI
I agree, it’s our job as consumers/loyal customers to offer Third Man our constructive criticism. how else are they supposed to improve? I like you check Third Man at least every other day in some capacity (here, twitter, Facebook). I still missed it (showed up too late to the pre-sale). I’m not saying I need to be spoon fed all information on TMR at all times, I check it myself most of the time. But a club-leg in Los Angeles? That merits an email. that’s important. I don’t understand why a vault pre-sale for vault members wouldn’t have enough pre-sale tickets to accommodate all vault members in the given city. a crowd of vault members? sounds like a good time to me.

Well stated Christopher Bruno. Being in close proximity to Nashville and Third Man Records makes it a lot easier for me to attend events there. Every event I have been able to attend has felt like a very special occasion. I can understand your frustration as a Vault member when you miss out on a chance for a TMR event, especially when it is a Jack White solo concert. I stop by the TMR web site everyday, and if nothing else, just click the facebook logo, read the updates, then click the back button, click the twitter logo and read those updates and by doing that I am pretty much in “the know” of what’s going on with TMR. Honestly it doesn’t take up even a minute of my time to do that quickly but I do agree with you that it would be good to get advance notices on PRE-SALES. Good luck with your efforts in trying to upgrade the system. TMR is a work in progress and the folks there seem to keep getting better and better at figuring out how to improve things as each year goes by = only 5 years old /or young, this year.

I get tweets about every last one of the Rolling Record Store stops, but not one about the pre-sale? WTF, MAN. This is why I pay the $60 a quarter. And now I don’t get to go. I love you guys, but this sucks.”

These are my thoughts as well, I don’t think the vault did a good enough job of spreading the news, or providing enough tickets for vault members. I stumbled across the pre-sale myself and had no idea it was going on, no emails or tweets- I found it on Facebook five minutes after they were available.

Long time vault members who are now ticketless like the two of us probably feel entitled to be able to purchase a ticket considering how much money most of us have spent through the third man vault and at Third Man Records in general. When Los Angeles members of the Third Man Vault log onto craigslist we now see a dozen tickets for the LA shows being sold anywhere from $175-$250 a ticket. if that many scalpers are able to get tickets (even in a system where there was a two ticket max), that maybe suggests that the pre-sale wasn’t big enough. Third Man Records should make a bigger effort to expand the pre-sale for its vault members to make sure we are taken care of in terms of prioritizing our service over scalpers; vault members should always be prioritized ahead of ticket scalpers. Especially when Jack White is playing small clubs in a city that has a population of 10 million people.

I love the fact that Jack White is playing small clubs and if someone offered me the chance for Jack to cancel his club dates in favor of Staples Center or Dodger Stadium if it meant I could go, I’d turn them down- because small clubs is where we all want to see him. But when small clubs are the only gigs available, Third Man should make sure that it’s vault members are taken care of and allowed to purchase a ticket. the number of tickets they offered for the vault pre sale should be equal to the number of vault members TMR has in Los Angeles. We all should have been emailed three or five days in advance. Any left over tickets go straight to the general public after members have a day or two to purchase.

I also want to say that I’ve emailed the Vault and expressed this criticism. they were receptive and apologetic. those guys are awesome. if we voice our concerns I’m sure they’ll do what they can in the future to accommodate.

I agree, Stephen. This is terrible. I love TMR but maybe a show can be arranged for Vault members only in select cities? I really wanted to go to an LA show. Much love anyway, Jack.
