Jay Z's Magna Carta... Holy Grail

Open Letter seems like its going to be very Tangible and Flexual when comparable to other vinyl items but i really look forward to the visual aspect of the production to get a sense of the spin on table…. and i especially wanna hear this track now that i hear its called Open Letter which seems coded for a formal address to some particular issue
i went looking for some detail and was hoping this interview with jayz talkin about the production was going to give some idea of content… i mean there we have Magna Carta samplin Kurt Cobain in his first track

surprisingly the interview does get into character study with regards to jay masterminding how his real time plays out as he conceptualizes into expression of what he has decided is real… with regards to what the open letter is gonna say?? maybe he is gonna get into his personal take on some of these wacked out political issues hitting the media front page so often
I think it’s great that Third Man Records is branching out and putting out all different types of music onto vinyl. Jack’s choices in who he has produced has opened me up to so many great artists I never would have heard of and types of music I normally would not have listened to. I have always admired Jack for thinking outside the box both when it comes to his music and who he chooses to work with and produce. And I am very excited to hear that he is working on his next album and experimenting with different sounds for that.
Oops, didn’t mean to generalize but I personally do have a problem understanding what the rappers are saying almost all of the time. I have only been to one “live” rap show = Black Milk in TMR’s Blue Room and I did really enjoy the show even though I couldn’t understand most of what was being rapped. Also, the only other times I have seen rap is on award shows on tv and I usually can’t actually pick out what is being rapped then either. I would actually like to know what is being said/rapped. I guess if I listened to recorded rap I would eventually be able to pick out what is being said. Oddly enough I went to my first rock show when I was 14 and saw Jimi Hendrix. Later on I went to at least 5 B.B. King shows, one with Buddy Guy. I always tell young people that I would like the music to actually go back to singing because I can’t relate to rap music. A lot of people do like rap music so it’s all good.
@t_4_2 That’s a problem with rap music? ALL rap music?

All I want is Ray Bans. Too much to ask?
As a NY who lives in TN I think this is a very cool thing and hope I can get my fingers on it! Jay-Z is awesome! It’d be cool if y’all do a little Jay-Z & Jack White colabo or Blue Room show… Just saying that would probably put me on cloud 9. Thanks and keep dreaming up new ways to do things. You are making the music industry look lazy.
It’s a letter! That you can OPEN and then play!! Mind = blown!
Reading “something very special planned” makes me drool, this is going to be an epic release.
@t_4_2 I love what you just said.
Jack, you have my vote to make TMR the official vinyl distributor for all kinds of music. You and TMR guys are doing a great job for music. I gotta thank you for opening my ears to music I didn’t even imagine I’d love. Let’s keep TMR alive…Your turntable’s not Dead
