Jack White to Perform in NYC for Inside Llewyn Davis
Damn, I missed this opportunity to get tickets; but I hope to see the film at the New York Film Festival. For those who are going to the show, have fun! xo
PS: Visiting Nashville? After visiting Third Man Records at 623 7th Ave. S. check out the new Jonny Cash Museum located only 1 miles away at 119 3rd Ave. S.
Johnny Cash was a regular on the Grand Ole Opry radio shows. In the news today at www.musicrow.com : WSM Radio and the new Johnny Cash Museum in downtown Nashville, which recently was awarded GEM by AAA (only 6 other places in Music City have that distinction), are going to partner for radio shows (go to the musicrow.com web site to read the full story). Also, Johnny Cash is in the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum and in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Museum. When I went by the U.S.Post Office this morning I saw the Johnny Cash Forever stamp in person for the first time and bought 3 sheets of them. They are gong to make some nice gifts. [Wouldn’t hurt for Jack White to walk in Johnny Cash’s footsteps, in my most humble opinion and then there is the possibility of a Jack White stamp too…can I get a yahooo???
Grande Ole Opry!
This place is hilarious sometimes.
PS#2: I don’t know that you ever have before, but from now on when I see you I’m going to ask you, Jack White, "Are you ever going to play on the Opry? and “Do you ever think you will play there often?” What else do you have going on Friday and Saturday nights in Nashville, TN?
PS: I recommend you (John Anthony Gillis/aka Jack White) have a chat with Opry member Loretta Lynn and get her opinion on my suggestion. I know she is going to think it is a great idea.
Jack, Since your music buddy Cory Yonts is going to be a Grand Old Opry member now in his OCMS band, why don’t you just request/volunteer to play at the Opry on some of the same nights the OCMS does. It’d be simple really. There are so many other music folks that play on the same show just about everyone only plays 3 songs. The rest of the time is consumed with too many ridiculously long commercials but I would be willing to show up at Opry shows [again] to see you perform 3 songs each time you would play there and I am sure a lot of your other fans would too. Your fans could plan their Nashville visits around when they know you would be playing at the Opry. The Opry people would probably love you for your performances and helping to sell tickets and fill the place up every time you play there and in turn would invite you to become a member too. Consider it community service and a means to satisfy your fans and their demands to see you performing “live”. “You can’t please everyone so you got to please yourself”. You wouldn’t have to tour so much. Let your fans come to you and take in the whole Nashville experience and you could stay home and spend more time with your kids. They grow up really fast….they could grow up around the Opry House and the Opry Family and everyone would consider you and your kids family. You would always be highly thought of and a great Dad for raising your family around all the other great people that make up the Opry Family. It’s a pretty good argument, don’t you think?!!! Oh, and all of your fans (with internet of course) could go to www.wsmonline.com and be able to hear your “live” performances on the Opry. Like I previously mentioned, as in the lyrics of a song, “You can’t please everyone so you got to please your self”.
Once again… Empty-handed! And I was on Ticketmaster right at 12pm refreshing the page and waiting.
Managed to get a single ticket in the balcony, which is what I was going for. I was going to get the best available, but I got an e-mail this morning about the Black Crowes @ T5,so I bought the cheap ticket and got for a ticket for the Saturday BC show.
It seems like it becomes a tradition for me to see Jack White the day after the Global Citizen festival. Last year I left the festival early to the first RC show and went to the second night as well.
