After many years of performing in a multitude of configurations, Jack White is announcing that he will be taking a break from performing live for a long period of time. To cap off the Lazaretto world tour, and following his pair of headlining performances at Coachella, Jack will embark on a short acoustic tour of the only five states left in the U.S. that he has yet to play. The states these shows are occurring in will be unannounced until the day of each performance. Joining Jack on his jaunt across these locations will be musicians making up an acoustic quartet, including Fats Kaplin, Lillie Mae Rische and Dominic Davis. The shows will be totally acoustic and amplified only with ribbon microphones to the audience as well. These shows will be the very first totally acoustic full concerts Jack has ever done.
Each special acoustic performance will be announced day of show at 8am local time. Tickets for these engagements are priced at $3 per ticket and will be limited to one ticket per person. All tickets will be sold at the venue door starting at 12pm local time on the day of the show – first come, first served and cash only.
Vault members. We would not leave your fate to... well... fate. We will announce show details to you in confidence 1 hour before the general announcement the morning of each show, at 7am local time. In each of the states we visit, we will also set aside 1 ticket for every Vault member whose address on file is within said state. Vault members in each particular state will have up until 1 hour before doors open at each venue to claim their $3 ticket with a photo I.D. and cash. If the ticket goes unclaimed, it will be released to the line.
This timing is strict, our perception of state lines is strict, and the one-per-person rule is strict. Don't go changing your address now in preparation. We know where you really live, and it will be obvious to us if you just happen to be moving across the country or over the state line upon this announcement going live.
We can't wait to see you next week...
Still processing, but selfishness has begun to give way to seeing just how romantic it is for Jack to bring his performing career to a close this way. Like reaching 500 in Scrabble, playing in all 50 states is a beautiful goal. This really is lovely, and now it’s making me want to cry for that reason as well as my own sadness. And bless y’all for making such a special gesture for Vault members, that’s beautiful, too.
yous guys, too much fun!
Do you guys know what the 5 states are? I live in Kansas City, KS. He’s played in Kansas City, MO, but I’m not sure if he’s played in Kansas. Do you guys know if he has?
We all need a break from touring! Thanks to Jack and crew for wonderful memories, fantastic friendships, and music that is the “best out there” (according to my husband). Jack will be missed but we cannot wait to see what comes next from TMR.
While he for sure deserves a break, I was holding out hope for a Dead Weather tour this fall or next spring…c’est la vie. I’m sure these shows will be very special, and I look forward to the inevitable Vault release.
I feel so fortunate that he’s never played South Carolina. This is going to be great!
Wait a minute…..
omgomgomgomg. I live in one of those states. Hey TMR, we have a roomy bowling alley that would be perfect for an acoustic set. We can bowl afterwards! Duck pins too!
I’m so happy I was able to see Jack and his amazing band a couple of times last year! The break is now well deserved. I only hope this long period of time won’t be a REALLy long period of time :( And to all of you who’ll catch them at those acoustic shows – I already envy you, have fun!
A break for a long period of time… I don’t like the sound of that
I don’t know what to say…this is the first time you make me feel bad guys…Please make available those shows for those who won’t be there. And what about the MOnterrey show that was canceled? Please think about it.
