There are good shows, there are great shows, and then there are shows so singular, so standalone, that they capture the quintessence of a band, the truest distillation of what makes them so special, so unique, so important. Without question, The White Stripes’ performance at Tasmania’s Hobart City Hall on January 31, 2006, is a prime example of such definitive shows.

Recorded at the tail end of Jack and Meg’s exhaustive, five-continent, months-long run supporting Get Behind Me Satan, The White Stripes Live in Tasmania is a downright showstopper. When the duo locks into their telekinetic zone, there is no parallel. For this brief moment in time, nothing else in the world mattered more than these two people on this one stage in front of 1,200 fans with mouths agape.

Covers of Captain Beefheart (“The Party Of Special Things To Do”) and Beck (“Devil’s Haircut”) sit as spiritual brethren while less-tread White Stripes offerings like “This Protector” and “Black Jack Davey” display that this was a show which didn’t just scratch the surface – it dug deep for maximum impact. There’s no better evidence for this than the closing Side F, the duo’s second encore of the evening, which unfurls with a non-stop barrage, one song into the next, of unparalleled rock ‘n’ roll at its finest. “Let’s Shake Hands” appears (for the second time in the set) followed immediately by “Lafayette Blues” into “Screwdriver,” all hallmarks of 1998-99 early Stripes bedrock. Jack and Meg then instantaneously pivot into an impromptu cover of the Gories’ impeccable “Rat’s Nest,” which effortlessly morphs into “I Think I Smell A Rat,” followed by as good a version of “The Nurse” as you will ever hear. The epic set is then capped off with a thunderous rendition of “Seven Nation Army.”

“Tasmania is the only White Stripes show I ever saw that, in the middle of the performance, I thought, The world needs to hear this,” says The White Stripes official archivist and historian Ben Blackwell. “It was so clearly beyond impressive. When we started The Vault seventeen years ago, I had my long-term sights on getting this show to the masses. I’m ecstatic for the rest of the world to finally hear it.”

As if all that weren’t enough, Jack White & Eminem’s Live at Ford Field showcases the unmitigated triumph of the two Rock & Roll Hall of Famers’ instantly iconic live collaboration for the 2025 Detroit Lions Thanksgiving halftime show. With the smooth bass-led groove of “That’s How I’m Feeling” leading to the mashed-up medley of the White-penned “Hello Operator” with the Eminem smash, “‘Till I Collapse,” and rounded off with another roaring version of “Seven Nation Army” the once-in-a-lifetime moment was instantly praised for the energy it exuded – two Detroiters, two undeniable legends, creating something magical.

collectible trading cards with the introduction of its imprint Tripppl by including three (3) cards in each Vault 68 package.
