Introducing Vault Package #39 - SLEEP LIVE AT THIRD MAN RECORDS
One of the biggest stories in rock music this past year was the unexpected return of Sleep with the surprise April 20th release of their new record The Sciences on Third Man Records.
As lifelong fans of the band (and OM, and High on Fire, and Neurosis...) we were nothing if not honored to be the label that released their first album in nearly 20 years. This record not only cemented the band's legacy but built upon it by pulling off the rarest of returns. It was insanely good. Not only were they here, but they were better than ever. The Sciences is spiritual, speculative, messianic and heavy as all hell. Rampant touring ensued, and if you have seen them live this past year, then you know there are among the most powerful bands working today.
Just last month, on December 12th, Sleep brought the roadshow to the Third Man headquarters in Nashville and recorded over 2 hours of career-defining material to a live audience using our direct-to-acetate / audio mixed and mastered in real-time system. Seven, count them, seven lacquer cuts later we are prepared and excited to announce that a QUADRUPLE Sleep live album of songs spanning 26 years of their career is our next Vault package. Proceed the Weedian...
The set will be presented on 4 different colored vinyl (purple, orange, blue, green), each in their own individual jacket all housed in a sturdy slipcase. A reproduction of the poster from the show, and a mystery Sleep / TMR mission patch completes your set.
Sign up HERE before Jan 31st or miss out... forever. We estimate that packages will begin shipping in March.

Sorry man, I’ve tried three times to listen to this bands recent live shows…
Musicianship is, what it is?
Can’t understand a single vocal “whatever that is”.
Didn’t want a number of vault issues like Karen Elson’s or the live Jack white live " Orange Man, is bad" album.
Been around since the jump.
Weren’t we ALL able to by this threw TMR?
I’m excited about Zappa’s vaults getting tapped, I was impressed with my copy of an album, I totally already had. Because, it looked very nice.
Even though I have never listened to the three annual vault released compilations…
I like them.
As far as the “torrid” remark?
I’ve seen this guy play more times then the fingers and toes I have, I’m past the fingers, thumbs and into the toe’s of the person next to me…
I’m talking live.
I respect this man’s abilities to breath life into something that was, dead.
But, I was absolutely apauled the last time I saw him, live.
In Austin at COTA…
And to hear the diatribe on the live “stuff”?
In closing

Take my money! Best Vault since Troutmask Replica.
EmptyJ you know you can always cancel your vault membership when you don’t want a certain album and then join back when you like the selection, right?
If only we could have a DVD to go along!
TMR have done a nice job of featuring music form all sorts of genres for their vault packages that don’t feature Jack White in some form. Tells me they’re true music fans putting out music for true music fans.
@douglas crump….whoa?
I’ve been a vault member since#2 Lost my old account. please go back to the vault.
This one was not needed.
The last one was not needed, once I had your “double A side” it was free on YouTube with video.
If I wanted these shows live I would have purchased “any” of there catalog or the live “stuff” at TMR.
The idea of Captain’s and maybe Zappa’s stuff is solid.
I can give you a pass on the live stuff in vault#
Maybe people didn’t know you are a programmed tool of the industry?
I remember when I feeling love with your sound, we were still hunting for the original 7"
Whit inserts.
Just stop.
Old releases, “stuff” from your vault.
Whatever you may have from Zappa’s vaults.
What’s next a rerelease of a carpenter’s album.
If I wanted this I would have it, man.
I’m out. Beefheart was just noise. Terrible terrible noise. I suppose if I could smoke some sticky icky it might have had some value but I can’t. I can’t bolt now when I know some new Raconteurs is on the horizon (last vault was perfection) Dang you thirdman! Guess I’ll give it a go and gift some stoner burnout mine if I have a beefheart flashback. Love to all!
with this release I finally gave in and subscribed to the vault. so pumped can’t wait for this!!
Sleep somehow have mastered the near impossible combination of sheer, genuine transcendence with absolute nonsense. The announcement of this release was truly a blessed day.
I’ve only signed up for two Vault packages: Sleep and Trout Mask Replica. Worth every single penny.
I’m excited for Sleep!
