Hot on the heels of the release of their debut album Horehound, The Dead Weather played an absolutely incendiary set at the legendary Mayan Theater in Los Angeles on August 26th, 2009. This fiery performance captures the band at their most feral and raw, firing on all cylinders, full of broken glass, black leather and strobe lights. For YEARS this show has been whispered about as one of the best shows the band has ever played, so now felt a better time than ever to release this performance into the world. Featuring audio expertly mixed by Grammy Award-winner Vance Powell, the immersive concert film The Dead Weather: Live at the Mayan directed by Vern Moen is revelatory. The band’s signature gems like “Hang You From the Heavens” and “Treat Me Like Your Mother” sit pretty with explosive non-album B-sides like “You Just Can’t Win” (originally by Them) and “A Child of a Few Hours is Burning to Death” (originally by the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band). The companion audio of Live at the Mayan marks the first-ever live LP from The Dead Weather’s first year and serves as a blistering reminder as to why this band still matters. Your stereo will thank you…your neighbors, maybe not so much.

Coupled with the LP/DVD of the Mayan performance is the final 7” 45rpm installment from the Dodge and Burn album. As folks should remember, every song from the band’s acclaimed 2015 album was exclusively released on 7” format via the Vault. “Three Dollar Hat” b/w “Lose the Right” on beautiful black and yellow vinyl is the final piece of the puzzle. As a special treat, subscribers for Vault Package #32 will receive a deluxe box to house ALL six singles from Dodge and Burn Vault releases.

I’m in OR, I was wondering the same thing. I don’t think it’s shipped yet.

I’m still intrigued by the beautiful key… Hope it’s part of this beautiful package.

I’m with Gary Cabral… Where is the Live at Fenway show? That was an unbelievable experience. From the band being announced and coming out of The Green Monster, to Ikey Owens’ incomparable energy that evening (particularly on Icky Thump). This show needs to be immortalized on vinyl!

@Mark Bettis, after two problem-free years of Tidal I got overcharged this month too. TMR gave me a new voucher code for Tidal but it didn’t work, so I contacted Tidal’s customer support and have just received this reply – ‘We have manually re-applied your voucher to your account.
Additionally we have added 90 days to your subscription in compensation of the £19.99 charge. Your next billing date is now 19/Aug/2017 for £5.’
They seem to be fairly efficient at solving the problem but it would have been nice to have been given the option of a refund for the over-payment.

As far as this Vault package I am living for, any word on the key? Can it be akin to a golden ticket, admitting one to watch the DVD along with the band? PLEEEASE?

@Mark Bettis, that’s why I had to leave Tidal. I was repeatedly charged $20 instead of $5. At first I was told it was a glitch with my payment. I double-checked and it wasn’t, then, of course, my Tidal code had ‘expired’ because I let my membership ‘lapse’. The fine folks on staff here were kind enough to help me out as much as they could, but the third time I was overcharged and then kicked off the vault discount system, I canceled. I felt like they (“they” being customer service reps at Tidal, not TMR) expected me to comply, not complain, and cough up the full $20. Tidal is v cool, but it’s too rich for my blood, especially when I get most of my MP3 needs met with Amazon Prime services. My advice to you is to keep your eye on those charges in future statements. I am not accusing Tidal of malicious theft, but whatever glitch is in the system would’ve crept right past me had I not been poring over my bank statements. In hindsight, I would have probably tried to keep Tidal if their customer service had been 1/10th as helpful as TMR’s. Alas! Le weep!

Mark Bettis

Anyone else getting the Tidal subscription overcharged today??? Been charge full price instead of five bucks/quid.
