His sister, Gabrielle Drake is still a fine actress. She played Gaye Ellis in THE best 60’s/70’s sci-fi series ever…UFO
I’m still in love with the purple wig. I think she duetted with Nick on some tracks, though maybe not on 5 leaves.
Nick Drake is dabomb.com… can’t believe I never knew I was born in Nick Drake month. now I feel special.
daaaaaaaaaaaaaang
We need more stuff like this
I was just quoting sherlock holmes for watson there…. cut and paste buddy….no box needed
WTF Quizze…you gettin all philosophical on us again? I have trouble reading the bible and understanding what’s being talked about in them there words too. Fortunately God gave us nature to hang out in and I understand life a hell of a lot better when spending time outside and not reading anything or listening to anything, especially if it were to be a way over-priced/re-sale vinyl record that may be all scratched up and sound more like there’s a cat fight going on than decent music within it’s grooves. Love ya anyway Quizze. I understand this is a good outlet for all of your deep thinking. If you move to Nashville you won’t have so much time to spend inside the box because you will want to be out taking in all the great “live” music Music City, USA has to offer = never ending. Keep that dream alive. : )
My dear watson…..Do take note as I am off on yet another calling….. Mediocrity knows nothing higher than itself; but talent instantly recognizes genius.
Arthur Conan Doyle
Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent. We would not dare to conceive the things which are really mere commonplaces of existence. If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great city, gently remove the roofs, and and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the strange coincidences, the plannings, the cross-purposes, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable
………………………TMR affords us many liberties and yet each one of us is wise to not allow those liberties to become liability at the cost of whomever might venture this way…. cheers
Specifically I find it funny that such a butterfly of rare appreciation needs be pointed out atall much less so to our British compatriots …..however its clear that given its lonely and somewhat well worn journey through the world up to this point of transition there is a person ready to point out just how valued this should have been for its enormous appreciability ….Maybe….mayhaps….. more is not spoken here than is spoken when it comes to music being hindered by shipping costs that serve to vex at present………As I see it…the humour of these ebay of the week posts is not straight funny haha…. but mostly ironic needling which mends a rift in a community of great value to me and to you… Certainly there is more to what Third Man Records brings us than just music or a sore wallet…. whomever you may be… but you…. whomever you may be …. knew this……………. …………… ………….the best part of all is that none of the value in any of this is lost….but now rather shifted for the sake giving depth to what we cherish and collect together as a collective… go ahead and buy it is the message……..buyer beware has always been the third man message as well given the novelty nature of the diverse one of a kind concept based and sometimes antiquated features put before us…will we choose to follow the inherent suggestion towards appreciating the quality of even the lowliest of beautiful things before us???? One can only hope for yes…. but I wax poetic in a shrewd market where my only hopes are for the legacy of sound as opposed to silence
(Come to think—a record that’s 45 years old would be the slowest flip on record . . . :D )
I fail to see what the humor was, since the seller was quite honest about the record’s imperfections. I’d suggest just listening to the links Ivana posted—it would be nice if the music of Nick Drake was the focus here rather than the concept of eBay merch.
