FYI I was curious and called Merriweather to get the details on the pit. They essentially take out rows 1-10 (well AAA – DDD & A – F) in center, and adjoining sections in left center and right center sections (through row f). That means they take out aprox. 620 seats, and THEN SELL 1,200 GA TIX!!!!!!
I still have the extra GA Floor ticket, and its been sorta established that the market is my ticket is worth a straight up trade for early access. I think I have 5 of the winners accounted for with locked in plus ones BUT IF THERE IS SOMEONE LEFT WHO HAS EARLY ENTRY BUT NOT GENERAL ADMIN FLOOR THATS A TRADE I WOULD MAKE
Rodney – I live in NC and haven’t been to MPP in a long time and never when they had GA (‘cept lawn, of course). I can tell you at Charlotte, which was about 5th show of this tour, I arrived at 2 pm (doors were 7 – Jack went on 10ish) expecting to be in really good shape and there were 75 people in front of me in line (not counting the 20 early entry folks) I ended up about “3rd” row at right corner of stage. Someone in line told me it was very unusual to have lines forming that early at that venue. Don’t know if that is helpful at all. The only other point of reference I can give you is my son and his girl friend are going to a RAVE here in Durham Saturday night and I plan on leaving here and driving straight to the Post as soon as I can get them in the car as soon as I can and driving straight up. So thinking/hoping I can be in parking lot about 3 and expecting a lot of people in front of me :-( …. which leads me to >>>>>>
@Kali Durga thank you, neither of us has had the experience of a pit situation at that venue, it’s been a long time since either of us has been there. That will make her feel a bit better
The stage is really high at Merriweather, the bigger concern there for short people is getting a stiff neck.
@James Pugh My wife and I have pit tickets, unfortunately no early entry for us, so was wondering just how far ahead should we arrive to try to get a decent spot? My wife is very
small so naturally concerned about seeing. Now she is kind of wishing we had seats.
They took the seats out of the pit for Green Day’s American Idiot tour, so not really that long ago. I prefer it that way so there’s always a chance for front row.
I"m just happy this is a regular show and not FreeFest. That was a fricking nightmare if you wanted to be in the front.
Wasn’t dissing it at all – mainly I’ve never seen Merriweather configured that way. I saw my first show at Merriweather in 1981, and had summer subscriptions through most of the 80’s, so I am a fan too!
People are strange when your a stranger. Well I believe JPlo is saying he/she has a ticket just not a pit ticket and would be willing to make someone his/her plus one were they to have a closer spot or extra pit ticket in exchange. And I got my poster in Pitts and still had a nice spot at the rail by daru with the few min early entry. So if you are lucky and quick you can do both.
