As we trudge through the final moments of Winter, we present to you two live albums born out of the sweaty and oppressive Tennessee Summer... DIVINE FITS, comprised of Spoon’s Britt Daniel, Wolf Parade/Handsome Furs' Dan Boeckner, Gaunt/New Bomb Turks' Sam Brown and Alex Fischel, recorded an epic set in July of 2013, ending the performance by bringing a fan up on stage to destroy a piñata and litter the blue room with Snickers and Twix… Rock n roll at its sweetest. All-American grunge pioneers MUDHONEY joined us later in the Summer while touring in support of their ninth (ninth!) studio album, bringing a little piece of Seattle to our lathe room, and now to your turntables and earholes. Both Mudhoney and Divine Fits' 12” LP’s are available for pre-order today. Official release date is next Tuesday, March 4th.

Divine Fits + Mudhoney Live at TMR
Quizze, Remarkable! You’ve already been to a show in the Blue Room.
Bruce….I recall one of the sales clerks mentioning having a ticket or a receipt associated with the purchase of a ticket handy when the time came and thats basically how it worked when I got my Shins Black and Blue….but as you know the most bestest fastest way of securing the correct answer is to give Rebecca in sales a ring on the telephone or ddrop her a line at sales@thirdmanrecords.com ……Nearly certain you will get the straight dope with no delay… works for me! Best of Luck to ya
fuck: correction; Music City “Center”
PS#3: Dang I f’ed up the link to the Mudhoney show. Lots of web sites reported on the concert. If anyone is interested in seeing the show just do a www search for “Mudhoney on Top of the Space Needle”…in conjunction with radio station KEXP 90.3 FM Seattle. Now this gets me to thinking TMR needs to do a show on top of the new Music City Cerner in Nashville…preferably in the grassy area of the rooftop.
PS#2: I was at the Divine Fits show too and the piñata thing was a first for me to see, after many decades of going to rock shows. Yes, I have to say TMR does live music well, NO, very, very, very well.
PS: I haven’t seen any live music shows in the Blue Room advertised since the last one I went to = Mudhoney. I suspect TMR was too busy with other projects, especially the Paramount Record box sets. I’ll be glad when TMR gets done with all the artsy craftsy stuff and gets back to holding more live shows in their Blue Room. / Please note this is my own individual, personal opinion. / Also, Swank, when you visit Seattle you might want to drop in and see Pearl Jam’s headquarters. Now wouldn’t it be cool if TMR set up a small shop close to Pearl Jam’s digs? I think that would be excellent.
Haven’t been to a show in the Blue Room since this one. To stir up memories of the show did the www search thing and found a very cool 30.9 minute video clip from 7/11/13 of “Mudhoney Live on Top of the Space Needle” in Seattle. / When Swank visits Seattle soon it would be cool if he would make a little video clip presentation on top of the Space Needle too…but for God’s sake don’t let the man take any gumballs with him or if tries the same stunt as in the video clip on TMR’s facebook page he may start choking, lose his balance and fall off the damn thing. I call it damn since it is so damn tall. I was too afraid to go to the top of it but I hung out at the bottom of the Space Needle once while a couple of my army buddies went to a Police concert nearby. They had tickets but the show was sold out by the time we got there. I didn’t care. I enjoyed walking around the grounds around there. That was decades ago but if you would have liked Seattle as much as I did, well, I have to say, the memories are still very vivid. [“Mudhoney Live on Top of the Space Needle”…http://www.ocf.berkley.edu/~ptn/Mudhoney]…think that’s right :-)
What Bruce said…
will the colored vinyl for the show attendees be available on the 4th also?
Mudhoney jam sounds great. Dig.
