Brendan Benson, Your recording is very sweet. Also, got to tell you that as much as I have tried to like the other bands that Jack White has been in besides the Raconteurs (Dead Weather and his first solo project, Blunderbuss, with two bands), I don’t really care for them and really enjoy Jack’s work with the Raconteurs the best. I still listen to Raconteurs’ recorded music, never bought any Dead Weather music and don’t have my Blunderbuss cd anymore (too much going on, on that cd…too many instruments and singers and can’t hear enough of Jack clearly playing and singing alone). I think you and Jack singing together is the best harmonizing of any bands Jack has been in. Maybe it is the Detroit soul you both come from (sorry to learn Detroit recently declared bankruptcy…ya all got family dealing with that mess). Seriously, I am patiently waiting for more Raconteurs music to truly lift my spirits…living in this military town. Just found out one of my co-songwriting buddies in an army band has to deploy to a war zone. So damn tired of damn war. When I get my turn in the booth, I’m going to record “SILENCE” so I can play the record and ONLY hear the snaps, crackles and pops that the recording booth makes. I can image I am back at Third Man Records every time I listen to my own 45 vinyl record.
