BLACKWELL'S RECORD OF THE WEEK + GIVEAWAY!

Olivia Jean

Raving Ghost

Oh man, a record release day coupled with tour kick off in the Blue Room is always a special moment in the TMR world. And for it to be with near-and-dear to our hearts family member Olivia Jean? Well that makes it all the more of a celebration.
And OJ's third full-length record at Third Man is her biggest and best yet. I lobbied REALLY hard for the album to open with the song "Spider" (my fave here) and even though I got voted down, I can certify that this album cooks.
So in honor of the big day, I'm giving away a copy of Olivia's "Raving Ghost" album to a user picked from the comments on this thread. Maybe I'll be discerning, maybe it will be random. So no harm in posting multiple times, of being funny, of finding some sort of response thematically tied to the ideas of "raving" or "ghost." Have fun with it. Or don't. I'm not a cop.
Comments need to be posted here no later than Thursday May 11th to be considered for inclusion. Thems the rules.
Rock and roll!

Mr. Blackwell, I’m an English adjunct professor from Indio, CA.

I’m also in a secret desert rock band and our upcoming EP was mastered by Mr. Skibbe and pressed @TMP.

It’ll be out in June.

How can I give YOU a free copy of MY record? Cheers!

“I’m not a cop”… sounds like what a cop would say.

The ghost of EDM past, present, and future?

I haven’t seen a raving ghost since the 2000’s. It was 2001 at a club in Winnipeg. The club was in a building with no signs and question marks for door handles. I couldn’t tell you where it was, just that it was there. Now the alcohol stopped flowing at 2, but the rave was just starting. Lo and behold ..in the middle of the dancefloor was a raving ghost, glow sticks and all! The movements were so hypnotic, I could stop myself from watching this ghost dance. Then someone bumped into me and by the time I recovered. The ghost was gone… disappeared in the fog created by the DJ’s dog machine.

I never saw the raving ghost again.
