BLACKWELL'S RECORD OF THE WEEK + GIVEAWAY!

Olivia Jean

Raving Ghost

Oh man, a record release day coupled with tour kick off in the Blue Room is always a special moment in the TMR world. And for it to be with near-and-dear to our hearts family member Olivia Jean? Well that makes it all the more of a celebration.
And OJ's third full-length record at Third Man is her biggest and best yet. I lobbied REALLY hard for the album to open with the song "Spider" (my fave here) and even though I got voted down, I can certify that this album cooks.
So in honor of the big day, I'm giving away a copy of Olivia's "Raving Ghost" album to a user picked from the comments on this thread. Maybe I'll be discerning, maybe it will be random. So no harm in posting multiple times, of being funny, of finding some sort of response thematically tied to the ideas of "raving" or "ghost." Have fun with it. Or don't. I'm not a cop.
Comments need to be posted here no later than Thursday May 11th to be considered for inclusion. Thems the rules.
Rock and roll!

I remember going to a rave in El Paso when I was younger. It was supposed to be 1000% “bust-proof” but unfortunately it wasn’t. Amid all the recreational activities, one of the things that stuck out was someone covered in a blanket like a ghost running away from the rave when the cops busted it 😆

Rave on!

I had a great experience sending in a 78 to get repressed into a 45 at Third Man Mastering. It is my wife’s 89 year old aunt, she recorded when she was about 9. Warren did a great job cleaning it up and it sounds amazing. Its totally awesome. There’s a digital copy circulating throughout the family and 2 very fine pressings. Big fan of most things Third Man
