Jack White
Frozen Charlotte
scum stats: I should know this, truly, but there's a lot going on today
Some twenty-eight years into the rhythm of my personal involvement in releasing records with Jack White and it still gets exciting. Album drops are great culminations of months (years!) of work and planning and plotting and scheming and it's not faded a lick since this 15-year-old scamp pawed through his first box of "Let's Shake Hands" and said to no one in particular "people will collect this one day."
So in the spirit of premonitions and prophecies....post in the comments the best thing you ever predicted. Be truthful. Get your comment in by midnight July 16th and the winner (winners?) chosen by me will get a badass copy of "Frozen Charlotte" maybe some extras tossed in, fun times cool stuff thanks for your participation.
I’d say the pinnacle of my predictions, on top of all the job site times I’ve said “that’s not gonna work or you’re gonna hurt yourself doing that”, would be seeing GWAR at riot fest in ‘18 and telling my uniniateted friend you’re gonna get blood sprayed on you from the dismembered corpse of Donald Trump. 45 minutes later we were reveling in it! What a show! Happy Bastille Day! ~ William G.
I predicted (was hoping) Jack would join the Mosswood Meltdown lineup with you when there was still room in the tour schedule but was obviously wrong :-( Separately I did predict the orange menace would get involved with the USMNT World Cup suspension before it happened, but obviously not hard to see that coming. Oh well.
After years of pet ownership and being judged constantly by them, ESPECIALLY by my last cat, Marmur, I said the next cat/dog I adopt will not have these feelings of judgement towards me. Well, I adopted my new dog, Myszka, and let’s say that nothing has changed. They are still in charge and run the household. My predictions will always be wrong. I suck at it, I guess.
I’m entering my fifth year of teaching fifth grade with a part-time role of being an assistant principal of my school. When I first began, I thought, “Wouldn’t it be amazing if I became the principal of the school?” I love teaching and therefore being in the classroom, so I’m happy that I was half-right with my prediction of being the assistant principal. However, recently, at the listening party, I predicted I would win the signed copy of Jack’s new album even though I’ve never won anything before! I’m still riding off that high of July 8th.
My sister and I predicted iPads
We wanted tvs that could play any show you wanted in the back seat of a car.
I predicted that Idiocracy would prove to be prophetic and not just silly whimsy. I’m sure I wasn’t alone in that but I’m guessing I had more certainty about it than most. And sadly I think it’s obviously coming to fruition.
I just knew that gas station hot dog was gonna make me sick. I ate it anyway.
I knew he was his father
I predict someone else will win!
Never mind!
In college two of my roommates were studying for the LSAT. One of them was just non stop and he did very well in school as it was. He applied to both Harvard and Yale among many other law schools. One night we were hanging out (probably drinking) and as we were talking about his application, I said, “you’re getting in to both!” The other roommate was was like, “hold on, that’s a lot to say…”, which is understandable. I had to rebutt him though and stand firm that observing as hard as our roommate worked and his apparent talent, I truly believed he would get into the No. 1 and No. 2 law schools at the time. Well, sure enough he got into both, he chose Yale and is doing very well. Probably my best call. What’s another call I have? J Mascis will be like a Vincent Van Gough, his work will not be truly appreciated until after he’s gone. (Y’all are gonna regret not appreciating him while he was here). No I won’t be surprised if many here do…
