The Stooges
Live at Goose Lake: August 8th, 1970
scum stats: a shit-ton on black vinyl, 500 on purple vinyl, 1000 with screen-printed cover and cream colored vinyl, 17 copies with custom colored vinyl and multi-color screen printed cover (only given to family and friends, good luck ever getting your hands on one of these, this is why we own a pressing plant)
My life could be all downhill from here. Third Man is releasing a Stooges record that I've personally shepherded through the process and I just hope the rest of my life is not like all the Japanese tourists who suffer Paris Syndrome.
Anyway, today is a day of rejoice and I want to pass along that rejoice to you, the faithful readers. I'm giving away ONE copy of the Stooges "Live at Goose Lake" record here to whomever just has the arbitrarily "best" comment in below. So do it up good.
That person will be able to choose between a purple vinyl copy, a cream colored one, a test pressing, a standard boring black vinyl copy, but not the limited edition of 17 unless their comment reveals that they are sitting an ANOTHER previously unheard Stooges recording which we can also release on Third Man.
I've literally spoken more about this release than any other new title on Third Man ever and possibly...more than any other record I've EVER spoken about. Shit, there's Dirtbombs albums I've not spoken a lick about and this damn release has me on over twenty interviews so far and still going.
So as I've said enough about this one already, just check out the sublime beauty that is "Funhouse" live.
Got the purple and the black ones. Need the cream one bad. Saw Iggy and the stooges supporting Madonna at slane castle in 2005 after just seen the White Stripes in Dublin, Belfast and Paris on the same trip. Good Times.
Saw Iggy and the stooges at Bumbershoot in Seattle!! That show blew my mind!! Hot, sweaty punk fuzzing my ears full of raw energy even as Iggy killed it!! I was also priveleged to see the Ashetons kill it up there alongside Iggy!! I’d be stoked to own Goose Lake!! The Stooges will always be a Rock staple in my listening wardrobe!!
Sure hope someone won this by now.
I love records! They give me the feels. Holding the jacket, reading the inserts and sleeves. Carefully placing the hype sticker on the inside left side…
I have 4 players so as I move around the house I can play records. I envy those whom can work
At third man records. I’d love to Work in the pressing plant and attend blue room concerts and
Sessions.
The access to test presses. Not to mention company picnics! I bet the pickup baseball game is something to see and be part of. Are there any practice rooms that employees can use on break? I’d totally use the recording booth minimally once a month to record demos.
I’m not sure I’d care about variant presses just test or regular styles are cool. It’s hard to believe I have been haunting this place for 45 vaults now. My
Box set cubicle is full my TMR cubicle is full and a half. I need more 45 boxes they are full. My shoebox of TMR trinkets is full. I need more 45 boxes. I want 3 of those record player preamps. My cleaning fluid is running low on both of my record player cleaning kits. When you score a box of old blues records they will definitely need cleaning. To save fluid I only clan after u confirm it’s worth the fluid.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
PS can we get a vault of Hawaii concert materials.
Fuck you see ya later bye!
@avery1103 there’s 100 (give or take a handful of damages) Totally Crushed Out screenprinted
What are the stats on the pink Totally Crushed Out That Dog. album with the screen printed jacket? Discogs says the screen printed jacket was only available through the vault store, and that the TMR store front copies have the non-screenprinted jacket.
Without iggy music would not be the same! The Godfather of punk.
why did Third Man quit posting cool records in the Vault store? it’s all gimmicky garbage.
“Ricks have a very distinctive and traceable brainwave due to our genius. The best way to hide from an enemy’s radar is to stand near someone with complementary brainwaves that make ours invisible. [picks his pen] See, w-w-w-when a Rick i-is with a Morty, [writes diagram] the genius waves get canceled out by the, uh… ahe-hem… Morty waves.” – R. Sanchez S01E10
