As you've noticed, the chat feature has disappeared...Or has it?
We've modified the chat to be available when Jack, Blackwell, and other Third Man VIPs are online, and then closed when they leave. Over the years we've come to realize that the vast (VAST!) majority of people only use the chat when our fearless leaders are present, while rest of the time we spend a vast (VAST!) amount of time reprimanding problem users, telling people to please not use a swear, mind your manners, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all etc. Comments on posts, it should be noted, are still active.
While we certainly want to continue forth with the community that you and we have built over the years, the Chat function being available all the time served a purpose that has waned in popularity, and lead to more problems than two people can deal with in between regular day-to-day Vault duties.
So in closing, rest assured, the chat is still there. When Blackwell/Jack/Swank want to give away ultra-rare items and curios, shed light on any one of the mysteries of Third Man, or just some good old-fashioned coffee talk, a "CHAT" icon will appear in the menu bar on the main page, a tweet will be sent out as before, and the madness shall ensue.

This would be a great venue and time to announce the details of The Raconteurs USA/North American tour. And I will continue to shout out for a visit to the Durham/Carrboro/Chapel Hill/Raleigh area of NC. I really think the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) would be perfect!
Liverpool UK gig October 20th: excellent show, Jack and the band obviously enjoying themselves. I saw The White Stripes only 2 gigs here (L2 in 2001 & The Royal Court 200?), I was also present at The Raconteu rs 1st ever show here in L’pool. So expectations were high. Jack didn’t let us down. However, the acoustics at the Echo Space Arena are absolutely dismal! It’s basically an aircraft hangar, so the mixing desk had an impossible task. I know Jack music very well, but I struggled to identify some songs at first.
Sorry Jack, I love you, but I wish you could go back to playing venues that respect the artist, the crowd and the music.

Since I can’t chat, can you please re-stock the black vault t-shirt? It is seriously my favorite shirt, I wear it all the time and it’s starting to look a little ragged. The small and x-small aren’t quite going to cut it for me. Please AND thank you.
Do I really have to use twitter in order to know when there will be a chat session? I had no idea up until now that there were tweets sent out to inform about Jack being there to chat. Glad to know now though!
Jack’s on here quite frequently, not always for a long time, but more than I would expect.
lmao, Jack never comes on here…has he even done 5 chats one here in the last 5 years? I don’t expect it as a weekly thing or anything but I think a hour every quarter, aka every vault package is fair. Maybe he signs one Vault package each release. On a side note, can we get more original or older stuff that has been released in decades? I have been seeing more and more of the same songs, stuff I already have from TMR from other releases.
