I don’t completely disagree with you Justin. I was thinking similarly: I’m in it for the music. Patches and postcards and pins are sweet but that’s it, and yes, the setlist was a bit short and lacked hits but on the other side, Pearl Jam release every show they play on CD, so I thought it was nice to have something a little different. Although I must admit I was a bit astouned at how short the set was altogether (the record is missing only 1-2 songs of the night).
You mentioned the costs, 60$ (I pay 80, as I live in Europe), were far too much for this package BUT (a large but), the last three or four packages were nearly all boxed sets with DVDs, USB sticks, amazing concerts on vinyl (The Gold Dollar box, the Jack White acoustic box, The White Stripes Manaus box, not to forget the Jack White Bonaroo box). Maybe they have to slow it down financially a little once a year due to costs of boxes such as the ones mentioned exceeding the budget. So I understand your disappointment, especially if this was the first package for some but wait for the next one, it might by content-richer again :).
this was a huge disappointment. The set list was terrible for 1. It’s only like 8 songs also. If they were only doing 8 they could have at least tossed in some hits. Release or something. But that’s pretty typical for PJ to play the wrong set for the venue. And for 60 dollars? The trinkets are dumb, who cares about a stupid photo book and patches and crap. I want music, and just music and for 60 dollars? This was a 20 dollar LP, 5 dollar 7" and 10 bucks worth of junk. You all fell real short with this. The least you could have done was added a DVD.
